Default FS [SoCal] - 2002 Silver Z06 73k miles, NEW motor SOLD

Hello CorvetteForum,
For sale is my 2002 Corvette Z06, silver paint with black/red leather interior. The list of things to say about this car could go on for ages, i'll try to keep it short, but feel free to ask questions.

Location: Carlsbad, California (San Diego area)
Miles: Just shy of 73k on the car, but only about 50 miles on the new LS6 motor.
Title: Clean, no accidents.
Reason for selling: Bought another sports car already, don't need 2.
Pros: Dyno'd at 373rwhp/365rwtq with new motor. Along with with the new motor was installed a new clutch and new brakes. About 500miles on new rear tires. Has an MS4 Cam, aftermarket short shifter, complete aftermarket sound system w/ bluetooth, new AC Delco Professional Battery purchased about a year ago, new belts about a year ago, non-smoker, garaged, featured in superchevy magazine, many more.
Registration: Just paid California Registration so it's good until June 2017. This included SMOG (5/25/16), so if this car is purchased prior to 8/25/16 the new owner will not have to worry about it.
Cons: small rip in center console leather, seats slide slightly, horn membrane needs to be replaced (have the part), turn signal deactivater needs to be replaced (have the part), small area of clearcoat wear on rear right corner, some scratches on the bottom of the bumper from driveways, probably some small scratches here and there, but nothing major.

Price: SOLD

This Z06 previously had a built up LS6 with heads, long tube headers, big cam, etc, but i recently got a stuck lifter on that motor and pulled it out. The new motor was just finished being installed and I just tuned it yesterday (4/22/16) with good results of 373rwhp/365rwtq. This tune is conservative so that it can pass emissions and very easy to drive. The new motor was built by Mike Schill from Saum Engineering. Not that i need to say this, but since it's a new motor it has: new ARP bolts, new gaskets, new cam, new spark plugs, new heads, new injectors, new fuel rail, new rocker arms, and the list goes on.

The car is running great and it's completely stock other than the MS4 cam and a short shifter. It's able to pass emissions - yes the catalytic converts are factory units.

The stereo is made up of a Pioneer head unit feature bluetooth for both calling and streaming of things like pandora. Every speaker was replaced - 6.5" polk components in the front, 5.25" infinity coaxial speakers in the rear, a 12" Pioneer subwoofer in a custom box in the trunk, all powered by a 5 channel amplifier, which is installed in the sill behind the seats.

Sure 14 year old cars can have a variety of small issues - ask any c5 z06 owner that. But, I feel that I've done a great job of caring for this car and have fixed a ton of little things, maintained it well, and kept her looking good.

Recent services within the past 1000 miles:
New AC Delco battery
New rear tires - Toyo Proxes 1
New front rotors and pads (only 50 miles on them)
New clutch (only 50 miles on it)
New windshield wipers
New belts
Royal Purple Synethic on all oil changes i've done
I add Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner usually once a month

Thanks
Alex

Lifter spun and became stuck. I've got the old LS6 on a motor stand in my garage.
Will be sending the old LS6 to a machine shop to have the bores re-honed, basically doing a full refurb on it to sell it as well.

It's a stock LS6, so stock rods and pistons.

What kind of cam is it? Is it audibly noticeable? Can I get more pictures of it and would you be willing to move it to the central coast for a serious buyer?

Nevermind. If it wasn't for that cam, I'd be really interested.

Daniel - i tried to PM you but you dont have that option on the drop down on your name.
I have a stock cam and stock pushrods in my garage right now. If you want the cam back to stock let's talk!
I'd be willing to give you a discount equivalent to the labor required to do the work, include the parts, just as long as you send the MS4 cam and upgraded pushrods back to me.
Thanks,
Alex

Stock cam, pushrods and valve springs? I am planning on doing a valve spring replacement on it if I get it because of the valve spring failures. if you put it back to stock valve springs and put the stock cams and pushrods back in, what kind of price are we talking?

I think I enabled PM

I'm also considering doing the swap back to stock myself. Please send me your price for both options.

How is the paint and body? It looks pretty good from the pictures but not all blemishes are always apparent.

Hey Phil. Thanks for the emails. As mentioned in the emails, id rate the body 9/10 and the paint about 6-7/10. No dents or anything on the body, but at the same time its a 14 year old car so it'd be hard to try to claim anything is perfect/new. The paint has some scratches here and there, but nothing unusual or highly noticeable. There is a bit of clear coat fade on the rear deck near the right taillight.

But in my opinion most buyers of a c5 z06 are really looking for a performance machine that looks great, rather than a great looking performance machine, if that makes sense? The design is classic, but more importantly the power is amazing for the price.

-Alex
