This car was orginally built to be delivered to Brown & Brown Chevrolet in Mesa, Arizona. The fleet manager at an Alaska Dealership "snagged it in the system" and had it delivered to Anchorage, Alaska. I bought it from him when it had 6600 miles -- he didn't drive it much as he also had a 2001 MY vert and an 01 TR Z06. I have owned the vehicle for 2 years now, and have since moved to Northern California. This C5 was shipped via ferry to California, and currently resides in a garage near Sacramento.
I have added the following tasteful and professionally installed modifications, which total $6400 (I have the receipts):
Performance
Blackwing Intake w/ Cleaning Kit
GHL Quad Exhaust w/ 4" Tips
Diablosport Predator Handheld Tuning
Hurst Shifter
Baer Front/Rear Crossdrilled Rotors & Mag Red II Calipers
Lowered 1 Inch on Stock Lowering Bolts
CAGS!, Magnetic Oil Drain Plug
Exterior
Chrome Z06 Wheels & MPS Tires (265/35/ZR18 FR, 295/35ZR18 RR) 8K miles
Front/Rear Stainless Steel Lettering
LAPD Front & Side Z06 Screens
Painted Hood Liner by Lisa
Exhaust Plate
Interior
Vette Essentials Gray & Black Sport Package
Lloyds Mats (Black w/ Corvette Logo)
Steering Wheel, Passenger Side Air Bag, and Door Sill Stickers
Electrical & Lighting
Optima Red Top Battery
APC Headlight Replacement Bulbs (Highs and Dims)
PIAA 1100x Foglamps
Euro Taillight Kit & Harness (White & Amber)
LAPD Third Brake Light Flasher
Window Valet
This Corvette includes a $0 deductible GMPP Extended Warranty that is good until 50,000 miles or up to May 26, 2005. It is transferable to the new owner for $35 through GM. This warranty was $1900 extra.
I have the original window sticker, the original 2000 owner's kit, and both remote keyless entry key fobs and keys.
Maintenance Notes:
- I have ALL of the records for this car stored in a black binder
- Oil has been changed religiously every 3K miles
- Column Lock repaired August 2002
- Parking brake adjusted twice
- Bullseye chip in lower quarter of middle windshiled professionally repaired
- Front Bumper was repainted at Alaska Sales & Service in Anchorage for rock chips and a small blemish on the passenger side of the bumper; the top was also replaced after it blew out (original owner did not latch it down).
- Drivers Side Headlight Motor replaced
I believe in meticulous maintenance. I also believe in letting any potential buyers know everything that I feel is the smallest issue with a car that is for sale.
Known Issues:
- Driver's Side Differential Seal demonstrates a small leak (very common with the C5) It can be repaired under warranty. If I keep the car, I will have it repaired soon.
- Engine burns about 1 quart of oil every 2500 miles (again, very common with pre-2002 LS1s).
- Drivers side seat exhibits a small range of "rocking"; I am not a large person, and it has subsequently not bothered me -- this is also a warranty-repair item.
- Exhaust plate has some scratches; if I were to keep this car, I'd replace it with a billet exhaust plate.
- Drivers window has a one inch scratch at the top. Tinting the windows would hide this (but tinting is illegal (isn't everything in California?? ) in my state).
- Drivers side chrome wheel has an extremely slight scuff to the outer lip measuring one-half inch in length. It is noticeable only when cleaning the wheels, at eye level.
- Wheels do not include tire sensors; can be added by next owner easily. They sell on the Forum all the time for about $150. I don't need them, so I didn't add them to the wheels.
- Mild wear on drivers side seat leather and side bolsters. This is a common problem with GM "quality" leather seats. I have seen Corvettes with less than one thousand miles show similar wear (how sad; hopefully the C6 will have better leather quality).
- The paint has been regularly Zainod; however, the car does have 26,000+ miles, and there are some small chips in the paint which are unavoidable. There are two small blemishes in the rear fascia that are noticeable at about a foot. There are several chips and marks along the rocker panels. Again, I consider this normal wear and tear. The paint shines glossy, better than new.
Pictures:
Several Forum members, including DiegoM, Gozar, RamJetVette, A96LT4, and 1KSport have seen and driven my car. The car scored a 48 out of 50 at a recent show, and placed 7th out of 100+ C5 Corvettes.
All maintenance and modifications have been performed by Terry Fong at supporting Forum vendor Motorsport Image and Performance: http://www.motorsportimage.com/
This Corvette has never been to the track or to an autocross course.
This Corvette has never been smoked in.
This Corvette has always been garaged.
There is no lien on this car; clear title in hand.
This is my first Corvette, but it definitely won't be my last. I am selling this car to buy a new home.
This is a no-stories, turn-key car. Don't waste my time, and I won't waste yours.
I will not give this car away, but it will be sold this summer. I plan to list this car locally and in Autotrader within the next two weeks. I am in no hurry to sell this car, so don't lowball me.
I know what the market is bringing right now for used 97-01 coupes; I also know that you get what you pay for. If you want a C5 for $20K-$22K, there are plenty of ragged-out 80K+ mile 98 coupes out there for sale. This isn't one of them.
I can assist with delivery and shipment if necessary.
Price: $29,000
Do not hesitate to contact me with legitimate questions or to request specific pictures.
Thank you,
Ryan

Hope this works out well for you, Ryan. Great car, great deal!
Good luck on your house. I should be closing on my first "house", a condo on April 30th. Woohoo...30-year note...the total payment amount is disheartening so I try not to look at it :D

Re: ***FOR SALE*** [Northern California] 2000 Magnetic Red Coupe (Noggles)
Noggles,
That is a super sweet looking C5. I am in the market for one, and hope yours is still available around June time frame. But I highly doubt it. I am moving from Hawaii to Utah end of June. I could see a perfect road trip to drive it back to Utah....wishful thinking right?
Anyways, want to tell you what a great car you have there, and that there will be a lucky buyer real soon. Maybe I can hope its me in a couple months after I transfer. :flag

A deposit will hold it for you :)
I have driven I-80 several times. Nothing but clear, clean, open road between here and there. Beautiful drive, especially through western Nevada :yesnod:
