Default Major upgrade financing options

I am sure that I am not the only one out here who can never seem to have enough "extra" money to get upgrade the Z. I keep visitng this forum, drooling and dreaming. I admit that I am really jealous.

The question that I have is, how do you guys pay for this stuff?
Credit card, home equity loan, or are you guys just rich?

I would not recommend putting yourself in dept by financing mods. I personally save the money in a separate account that the wife doesn't see or have access to, and then pay cash if I decide to do something. There are always going to be gotcha's that will make the project snowball $$$.

side jobs that pay well. save the money and pay out of pocket, I do not belive in going into debt for a hobby. and always plan to spend more than you think lol.

More Than Zero

I'm a private (Ex Wife) hit man on the side..

Seriously though, I've paid for everything in CASH.. If I dont have it extra, I dont pay for it.
It sucks though.. It seems like everytime you turn around its 3 grand.

It helps that the kids are grown, house is paid off.......I live pretty simply.
But then, I don't spend nearly what other guys spend on mods!

PLANNING

If you can't do it all at once, buy it piece by piece and then do it.

What really gets you doing this is when you add all the little pieces up for one BIG total

Tax refund!!!! Seriously... don't use credit cards for the mods. unless it can be cleared in 30days and absolutely no loans. One thing that isn't set in stone is what it'll eventually cost.

Consider all the cool kits coming out and at really good prices.. time is on your side. Or.. the second-hand stuff that'll be available at a steal.

Just have all of your mods done at ECS. The have a self check-out feature, kinda like Home Depot. You can charge yourself as much or a little as you like! Thanks Chris, you are a true visionary!

Cash only!

I used to do the Team Visa Racing thing but I learned from that lesson.

Mad money is the only way to pay for mods in my opinion. Extra cash.

If you have to go into debt then you can't afford to mod. Just my opinion.

I saved for 3 years to do major mods and I am saving again so I can visit with Rodney for one of his trans and other supporting parts to help keep together my beast. Some other planned mods are coil overs and then some bling and with a Vette it is never done once you start
