NOVI 2000 owners - I need your .02
I just purchased a NOVI 2000 kit from ECS to go on my new forged motor. Question: how many of you stuck with the 6 rib set-up, and then kicked yourself "x" amount of days down the road for not going with the 8-rib? I'm curious, because i do not intend to upgrade my fuel systems beyond the racetronix pump, KB boost-a-pump, and the Motron 60lber's. So really, I shouldn't ever see more than 650+ at the rear wheels with that fuel set-up. Which begs the question do I need to drop the extra cash for the 8-rib set-up. Money has become tight on this project so this last decision is killing me. Any input you guys might have to offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Stephen

Doug at ECS said that an 8rib was not needed until you hve larger displacement 400+cubes or plan on making 750++RWHP. My 6 rib is doing fine at 620rwhp, no belt slip at all at 10psi and I plan on keeping it 6 rib with the new forged motor I am building and running 15psi at around 750rwhp...

If you sticking with between 346 and 383, especially since you don't plan on making more than 650rwhp!! MINE has given me 3800 trouble free miles with 0 issue

My six-rib is fine so far at about 1500 hard miles, 9-10 pounds boost.

FWIW, the Paxtons are reportedly easier on the belts than the ProChargers. Something to do with the internal step ratio or what not.
My general thought is to buy initially something that has growth potential. If that means a forged motor and an 8 rib so be it. It's much easier to start with what you want to end up with.
I say this as I'm starting combo # 3.

I'm around 700 at the wheels running a forged 346 and the 6 rib has been fine so far running 12 lbs of boost. The way I see it, if it would've NEEDED and 8 rib, ECS would've put it on.

Thanks for the response guys...I'll probably stick with the 6-Rib now. If I can squeeze 700 hp out of my fuel set-up I may try, but it sounds like the NOVI and the 6-Rib are more than capable for the 650 to 700 horsepower zone. If money were no object this late in the game, sure I would go 8-Rib, but that's anything but the case, so I'll stay with da 6.
Thanks again to all who replied, there are some really good people on this forum and you guys just proved it. I should probably give a thanks to ECS as well. Poor Chris, I have called him like 20 times in the last 2 weeks asking all sorts of questions. Never once did he rush me off the phone or simply say "Hey, you gonna buy this D@mn thing or not!" Pretty cool guys out there at East Coast Superchargers.
Thanks to all,
Stephen
