Default Which tuner will match Andy's sweet KB installed DEAL!!

Man I keep looking at that 7k installed for a polished 2.6 KB and it makes me want to drive across country and get it installed!

Will there be a tuner to match it? Will anyone step up to the plate?

If so, you have a customer waiting....

Your better off driving across the country.

It is physically IMPOSSIBLE to get someone to match this price. I would be willing to bet that you will NEVER see this kit sold/installed "New" for anywhere close to 7K. IMHO.

Why??

Because they are selling it wayyyy below dealer cost.
If i'm not mistaken this was a kit that was given to A&A a long time ago by KB.
And since there is no out of pocket expense, they are able to sell it for as cheap as they want without taking a loss.

At 7K you are paying right around 3500-4000 for the kit.

If it were me, I would just offer Andy 5 grand and have it installed in your home town.

My initial guess based on the killer deal was no... otherwise he wouldn't still have it at his shop. Not sure why, the KB is a sweet unit.

There you go, Andy will sell it for around 6k, and I bet you could get Connecticut to install for around 1k. In fact he was running a special for 800 bux on a lot of FI kits. Don't remember if the KB was on that list.

We cant come anywhere even close to that price. I would either ship the car to Andy or try and buy the kit and have The Vette Doctors install it

I have a pretty good idea why.

No offense to anybody that has one, but the KB hood is a real deal breaker for many people.

The deal is probably because he has an overstocked unit that was ordered for a customer that backed out.

Geez, its a high rise hood...Its not like you have a 3' tall pen!s sticking out the top of the motor....
People make the hood out to be some sort of montrosity.

Just an FYI... You have C5 owners that put chrome louvers on EVERY light opening, painting HUGE flags all over the car, and some even go as far as massive racing wings.
Do you "Honestly" think that a hood that is 1.5" taller than the average high rise hood will kill the sale of a S/C???

There's a reason why you can NEVER get through on the phone lines. And its NOT because the bil collectors are calling..

When I talked to Jim B. last week he said they were doing VERY WELL.
The CF only represents a very smal percentage of Corvette enthusiests.
Also, they have a very well established overseas market.

I WISH I got it for free! Unfortunately, that's not the case.
This is the display unit that has been in my lobby for months. Only the blower and manifold have been unpacked. Everything else is in the box.
I've had it for quite a while and I figured $7000 is better than nothing. It's aKILLER deal for someone. I'm surprised nobody has taken me up on it.
I am actually installing it for free. But because I payed for it so long ago, it seems like I'm making a bundle on it!

The hood does kill it for me.

It says Guido

Killer system and an awesome price...but the hood...I prefer a bit of stealth.

There is a local guy who has a maggie and it took me about a .25 second to notice the hood, then I asked him if he had a maggie and that hood is subtle.

I guess I'd need to see one in person.

Dude - the guy lives in NY. There are -tons- of very qualified shops in his area that can easily handle a supercharger install.

Why not have the kit shipped to NY and installed by Cartek, Vette Doctors, ECS, etc?

Yes, and there is a derogatory word to describe those people.

I never said that it was *my* opinion, but yes... it does kill the sale for some people.

...and that reason is because of their great success in the Mustang market (which does not have the hood requirement)...

actually they do have a hood requirement for any thing other than the 1.7L unit on anything other than the cobra and the cobra has a rise in it already because it came stock with the roots unit. should get your facts straight

Thanks for all the answers guys.
I will probably install myself and a buddy and have vette doctors tune her.

Yeah I asked Andy about it before but he was wanting to do a in house deal, I have PMd him again to see if he wants to sell it shipped out.

I personally dont mind the hood and like it. It looks BADASS. Yeah it hurts a little if your trying to go for the stealth deal but if you want a roots or twinscrew on this car you just have to. Its not that big of a deal anyway.

The KB at its retail price of 6999 for the kit alone is a pretty dime and almost out of my budget. At that price I rather just do a a&a t-trim kit at a grand less + no hood painting.

Did you even look at the video? The fact that the "Cobra" has it stock does not in any way contradict what I said.

Anyway... the OP has stated that he doesn't mind the hood, so I think we are done here.

Trust me, If it was even REMOTELY possible, I would have ECS install it.
I just figured that if it wasnt avail for an outright purchase then it would be advantagious to send te car out west.

We all know what those words are, but we get "Vacations" when we upset the "Elders"
