Default Best track tire?

What's the best tire and size for a 17" Z06 wheel? Just for drag racing. Oh, and best place to buy.

You have a few options:
1) Mickey Thompson ET Street, this is a bias ply tire
2) MT ET street drag radial
3) Hoosier drag radial

There is a lot of info on the forum weighing the pros/cons of each one.

I have used BFG Drag radials before. 295/35/18 i believe. Thought i would try a 17'' wheel to get a taller sidewall. HP Addict your not to far from me.

The Hossier 275 45 17 DR is a great tire for the track. When comparing tire for tire (same size DR's) they hook up the best. The one draw back is that their strickly for the strip and will not hold up well with a lot of street use. As you said their for drag racing....give them a try and you won't be disappointed.

I think Tirerack carries them for a little cheaper and they are a forum vendor.

Let us know how the Hoosiers work out. I have thought about trying them.

BTW what part of GA are you in. I get my tuning done in Atlanta, Lamar Walden Auto.

M/T ET street radial 275/40/17
I drive on them back and forth from the track all season.
Never had a problem with traction, at all.

Summit Racing has them.
