Belt Replacement for 1997-2004 LS1 C5 :
Gates Micro-V are recommended by ProCharger...secure from NAPA, CarQuest ...
For your 4.5" pulley, the belt from Advance Auto is a DAYCO #5060900 Poly Cog 6-Rib Belt.
Loosen the 1/2"-13 bolt, which secures the Tensioner Assembly to the sub-bracket.
Loosen the 3/8"-24 bolt, which connects the Tensioner eye bolt to the Tensioner Assembly
note where the "tensioner back" & "tensioner arm" notches are aligned..this is where you want to re-align them after new belt is installed.
Using a 13mm wrench, or a 13mm socket and 1/4" drive rachet, loosen belt tension by rotating the Brass Collar at the end of the tensioner eye bolt...
Lift off old belt and slip it out & reroute new belt...tension NEW belt by rotating Brass Collar Counter-Clockwise until the edge of the notches are lined back up (as stated above) DO NOT OVER TENSION BELT! ...it will walk-off if too tight.
