Default Who's made the switch from LS6 to LS2 with FI?

I'm in the middle of my forged install along with my A&A D1 setup. I'm kicking around the idea of swapping my LS6 and 78mm tb for a LS2 intake and tb. Who has made the switch?

Very interested myself. There must be someone out there who has some real life before and after numbers on this.

I dont have dyno numbers, but im gathering parts for my FI build on my 347ci motor. I was going to go back to the LS6 intake and TB but my tuner told me to stay with the LS2 stuff rather than switching back.

Again, I dont know how much can be gained by it, but if he told me its better, Im a believer LOL

I've thought about this too but in a centri application I wonder how important the advantage of a 90mm TB over a 78 especially when the air is being rammed through. We've made over 900 rwhp through an auto and stock throttle body. I have an LS2 intake sitting here and if you look inside it at the upper right corner there's a chunk of plastic that hangs directly in the path of airflow-It really looks like it would obstruct flow.

Huh...interesting...because for the price I could get for my LS6 I could nearly get both the LS2 intake and Tb. There has to be someone on here that has done this.

I made the switch, but I also changed the block to a LQ9 at the same time. I know good power can be made with the LS2 intake and throttle body, but don't have any idea how much difference it makes. There are advocates for both sides of the coin.

Good info, but I'm wondering about what kind of difference in higher hp cars? LS6 over LS2 intake for sure on a mild application, but what about a larger CI with 15# of boost.....?

Well, may be the best reference you're going to get, but it doesn't take into account the F/I part. http://www.tpis.com/index.php?module=2_17_06

I thought I read some were that the LS2 intake had a leakage problem under boost because of a different casting process?

I have been running an LS2 intake/TB since I built my 402.No comparison dynos(sorry) but I have routinely seen 16-18 psi boost 1/4 mile at a time. No issues yet,if it pops I guess I will run a Wilson sheetmetal.I personally dont trust the Fast 90 at high boost, perhaps someone else will chime in.

The newer and improved FAST 92mm intake seems to be much better. I know the FAST 92mm throttle body doesn't stick like the old FAST 90mm throttle body did. Bob

Huh...so it looks like there is minimal differences in the two in the comparison tests.

This is what im wondering. I have a basic bolt on ls6. Got a150 shot on top of it. Car makes low 4 right now. Im pretty good with port work and can port the ls2 intake my self. My ideas are that i can sell my ls6 stock setup for enough to cover the ls2 intake and tb adapter harness. Take it to my boys machine shop, port the crap out o fit so she will flow and have a high flowing intake for next to nothing.

Does this sound like a decent plan? Im doing a budget setup on my current motor to show some of the local guys that it doesnt take 40 grand to go fast, just a little ingenuity and thinking out side the box. Would i benefit from this plan? I mean im not expecting the same power out put as a fast intake but until i do my stroker motor build i dont see any point in paying 8 to 9 hundred for the fast.

Sorry the thread jack just wanted to ask a quick ? ya know.

Besides the TPIS LS6 modded intake that accepts a LS2 throttle body, is there any adapter like a plate to adapt the LS2 throttle body to the LS6 Intake.
