With the C6 cradle, it sets the centreline
Of the wheel in the wheel well towards the
Back by 5/8". Any way of getting it back to
Center ?
I had a set of 28" Mickey drag radials on
the car at the dyno, and the passenger side
went through the inner fender, hit the bracket
and flipped it..... the screw dug into the tire to
the cord.
I am replacing it, and am going to run a
1/2 mile event with them, anyone else run into
this problem ?
Would changing A arms change the centreline ?

Are you using the C5 or C6 a-arms? I thought the C5 arms were necessary for proper centering of the tire.

I will say in advance that I haven't personally done it, but a couple of forum members have reused their C5 arms and coilovers to keep the tire in its original place.

Which A-arms? if you use C6 top A-arms it will put it farther back than using the stock c5 upper A-arms... I am using the lower C6 A-arms and the wheels are a tad back... and it looks sort of stupid.

The only way I see this getting to the correct position would be to lower the car substantially and when the camber is corrected in the alignment the wheel will go forward.

The other way is to use an eccentric type bolt on the rear.

Was this ever resolved?

I'm missing how lowering the car moves anything forward. You would have to change the caster angle to move anything forward.

Simple my friend....

Lower the car, it squats... (more camber), since the adjustment is the front leg of the a-arm, it will push the wheel a tad forward when you correct the alignment.

The new C7 has adjustment on both legs of the lower A-arm.

More exhaust pics uploaded to the CF server so they don't drop out any more.

Thanks for this.

But what causes the need to mod the exhaust? Tranny, diff or cradle?

Thanks.

The exhaust will not clear the outside of the diff. I cut 3" sections out of the x-pipe and added those pieces on the humps. No clearance issues. I cut the x-pipe before the hangers (to get the straightest pieces) and had to move the hangers, but that wasn't a big deal.

Sure can, as long as you're willing to cut out the floor board and rebuild it to a flat surface.

It's not going to simply "bolt up" though. You'll have to re-engineer it some.

If you ever get another set of Corsas just reuse the hump section. Corsa uses that same section for all their exhaust.
