Default Roll racing

Racing on a roll should not even be considered racing! How many times have you been to the track and witnessed roll racing. If you cannot race from a dead stop you are not racing.

Just my two cents.

Ha.

Racing is racing.

Roll racing
drag racing
horse racing
oval racing
ROAD RACING

....and we do all forms of racing down here on "closed courses"........ as the 1/4 being only a few gears away,... gets a little old for myself. Now, if we could DIG race for 1 mile,... now thats where it's at.

..anyways, racing is racing my friend,... no matter.

You have to look at it from the point of view of the partakers.. They could stop on a public street and risk getting rear ended. Also, with the new street racing laws. Kind of easy for the cops to show you were street racing if they see you lined up on the street with someone dropping their hands to get two cars to start.

I am sure this will get locked. This had nothing to do with forced induction.

Do they make 19" drag radials yet? I know they have them in 18's.. (don't know how well they work though)

With 103K on the drive train, the F1's down to wear bars and a business that's been hammered by this f'ing recession, roll racing is all my check book has the stomach for.

No doubt, this oddball thread is headed for lock down!

Hahaha. Sounds like a post I just responded to in a 'local' forum.

If you agree to roll race (aka partake in one) then how is it not a race.

Love the dig to a mile comment, that would work out good for me (even half a mile for some bikes).

But to each his own, if you don't want to do it, don't.

I agree!

But when I'm driving on the freeway and some IDIOT is messing it's nice to throw the hammer down and "QUICKLY" smoke him back out and smile all the way I love it!

Thanks,Matt

I roll race becuase I run 20" ccws and hook up from a dig is not going to happen.. hooking up at 45mph is still an issue, but not that bad...

If you dig race and hook up up on street tires.. your not that fast anyways and should not be here....

BTW in before the lock!!!

Any race that is agreed upon by the two competitors is a race.
Basically a good way to see which car pulls harder from a given speed, takes much(not all) of the driver factor out of it.

It doesn't really matter what you or anybody else thinks. It's fun. That's why people do it.

I'll admit there is VERY little skill involved, but that is not the point. It is just fun.

I like drag racing too, but a z06 sure isn't the car I would start with if that was my focus.

Like im gonna stop on the freeway to begin a race with traffic coming up behind me at 65 mph? I dont think so....
Nascar roll races every time the green flag drops......so I guess thats not racing then?

I need to jump in on this one!

While I understand most on this board want to see what a car can do in the 1/4 mile, a properly organized/LEGAL roll race can be a much better judge of HP. I recently had an opportunity to roll race a Ferrari Enzo, a Scud, and a modified Ford GT40. It was done on a runway, and made into a DVD!!!

We lined up at the beginning of the 2.3 mile runway. Both cars started off at the same time, but the car on the left set the pace to about 40 MPH. When the cars crossed the first large white line, about 100 yards down the runway, both cars ( who should now be even) stood on it for about a mile! It makes for a good race, and takes the element of traction and reaction time out. It now comes down to HP, weight, good clean shifts, and *****...

Runway Titans: wide open throttle
