Default TTiX + LS1 Latest Track Results

I went out last night for a test-n-tune session. Outside temps were in the mid 60's and there was also a True 10.5 event going on. I figured the track prep would be decent and the cooler air would be a plus.

I made 3 passes and I am posting run #2 and #3. The first pass was an 11.48 @ 126.94.

Pass #2 11.40 @ 128.21

Pass #3 11.42 @ 121

I missed 4th gear on the third pass and based on the 1/8 mile I think I was on track to an 11.20 or so.

After that pass, I detected a drive line vibration and some rattling from the throw-out bearing. I think the torque tube bushings might be worn out. I'm planning to disassemble the drive line and check everything out. I think with a better 60' the car could break into the tens.

^^^ Thanks.

The mph equals 550rwhp give or take at 3400lb race weight.

It made about 475 on a local mustang dyno that reads very low. I'm going to attend a dyno day soon and get a more representative reading. Regardless, I'm really happy with the results of the turbo kit. The turbos hit extremely hard in this cold air.

Here is a picture of it in track mode. All that is required is lower rear tire pressure and a helmet.

I saw you make your runs Saturday night at Evadale. I was wondering how you did since you were running as a NT. I thought you were making some decent passes, and that black C6 was flying also.

I have not seen you since last year over at HRP when you had gotten your clutch and I think a Vararam and stuff. By the way, this is Floyd over in Orange that used to have the Torch Red 99 FRC that you came and test drove. I think you saw my 02 Quick Silver ZO6 that I replaced it with that evening at HRP.

Your car is looking good and should runs some high 10s if you get that 60' down lower, you definantly have the mph to get you there.

Good Luck!

Hmmm, I dynoed 490 a couple years ago and ran 129.... I'm thinking you aren't at 550.... just food for thought.

Thanks Floyd.
How's it going? I didn't see you, but I wish you would have dropped by and said hi and given me some launching tips. I left at 4000 on the 1.83. We posted N/T because we felt that the officials would be more lenient if we weren't posting an illegal et.

I would have tried one more pass, but I think I hurt something in the driveline. My goal is to run a high 10 on drag radials with the stock heads and cam. I'm going to make some repairs and try again. I agree it has the mph to do it.

How is your car doing? Are you going to the track anytime soon?

I was just posting up some theoretical values because the original poster was curious. I don't get too concerned with dyno numbers. It' just a tool for tuning and a way to measure gains or losses in power.

What was your race weight including driver when you trapped 128? Also do you remember the 60' e.t. on that pass?

Nice man, glad to see you having fun with it. Good luck fixing the problem, and whatever went wrong maybe there's a better part available.

I'd say the times are right inline with 550rwhp. The 6 speed turbo is so tricky putting down the power. Reference these old posts of mine, where I ran similar times after 560rwhp on a dynojet.

Ben
Yeah, I saw your car but was not really sure if it was yours or not. I never did see you outside of the car. Me and a couple of my buddies were standing under the bleachers in the staging lanes, so every time I saw you the doors were shut and the windows were up.

Maybe I will see you out there next time. This coming weekend is looking good on the weather forecast again. I have not ran the ZO6 since last Feb or March. My best pass so far has been 11.846 at a little over 115.5 w/1.78 60ft. The best 60' has been a 1.73, but I missed 4th gear like a retard and that would have been around an 11.77 pass. Best trap speed has been 116.01mph. Best 1/8th mile was 7.58 @ 94.47 and that was on the best 60' pass as well.

I need to get the car back out and get some more practice myself!

Good luck on finding the driveline problem

Later
Floyd

Chris, Good to hear from you. I am having a blast with the car especially in the cool air. I haven't been able to disassemble it yet, but from the research that I have done it seems to be torque tube bushing related. I think the vibrations may have messed up the TO bearing or possibly just caused it to rattle.

I called ECS today and I am really leaning towards their HD Driveshaft. It may be overkill right now but it beats taking a chance and needing to do bushings again.

Thanks for posting your results as a reference. Its interesting to see how my extra boost and uncorked exhaust mirrors your car with less boost and exhaust but the superior LS6 heads and cam.

Floyd,

We were busy trying to make some passes in between the True 10.5 event. I felt time limited since we got there late. I wish I could have made a few passes while the sun was still shining on the track.

Are you planning to go to HRP or Evadale?

Hopefully, I'll get everything sorted out before the end of the season. I'm looking hard at the ECS HD Driveshaft. It seems like a no-brainer.
