Centrifugal To TT (A&A to TTix)...My Build
I purchased an A&A kit with a t-trim v3, 8-rib setup, lpe pump, kb bap, etc right around 2 years ago. I did a blower cam at the same time, and I already had kooks 1 7/8 long tubes. It made a little more boost than expected at 15psi or so right off the bat. I decided to just add more meth and tune it. 672rwhp was the result. Over the next 2 years I upped it to 691rwhp, 713rwhp, and finally 751rwhp just a few weeks ago. I think I have well over 1,000 WOT pulls on this setup. It has seen 155mph most of those pulls and 190 a few times in 5th. It was a TON of fun, and it proved to be more reliable than just about any other car I have personally seen at that power level. I'd do it all the same again to make 700rwhp. Anyway, I discovered a week ago that the motor was getting tired. It has a little bit of blowbye. I am sure it was still making good power, but it was downhill from here, and I was ready for more power.
I simply wanted to do something completely different even though I could have slapped a ysi on. TTix will be receiving my check Tuesday to get started on a TT kit with precision 62/65 ball bearing turbos, sheet metal intercooler, and 3" downpipes. . I plan on running straight 3" pipe out the back. I should say a member here, Tiago, will be fabbing this up for me using my kooks x-pipe, stainless pipe, and quad 4" stainless tips I ordered. I will be running an eboost2 controller.
I recently bought an LH4, 347ci, -9cc shortblock for a price I couldn't pass up. Notice the extra material between the sleeves.
The next thing I did was place an order with Byunspeed. I have used them in the past, and their prices and service are damn hard to beat. The AFR's showed up in 2 days. 225cc with a 72cc big bore. Compression will be roughly 9.1:1.
The ARP 12 point head studs and Mcleod RXT twin disk should be here soon. I've got some hours in wrenching already.
Old engine looks great. It is the just the rings not holding 100% anymore. Next step is to assemble the new long block. I am waiting on the ls2 conversion kit to show up from SDPC.
I will mostly only be working on this on the weekends as I have time, but we will see. I want it done 110% with all bugs worked out by march including hours of tuning, some racing, and a dyno pull to confirm it is making what it should.

I may be wrong on that engine code. It is a 5.3L aluminum gen4 block. I am told they came in the SSR's and certain trailerblazers. It uses the gen4 accessories, and it starts off with thicker sleeves than an ls6. I bought this engine from an employee at HKE. He stated that many of the 5.7L blocks show cracks once the hone is done. They like to start with these instead. This was an engine he was selling that he had built for himself. It comes out to a 347 with a 3.905" bore once bored.
I'm looking to make 850+rwhp on 93+meth. I am going to tune it pretty conservative at first, and it will make what it will make. I won't feel like wrenching on it for a while once done. I'll end up pushing it harder and maybe doing an ms109 tune eventually to see if it cracks 1000rwhp.
I will be selling the A&A kit, but I'm not sure when I will get around to cleaning it up and boxing it. I really would rather not ship it. I also need to use that crank pinning kit before I sell it.
