Default AJROTHM's Z06 Gets a 403, F1R and a serious makeover

I figured you guys might enjoy following along with me through my current build. I have been doing builds for other members for years, but haven't posted much about them since I wasn't a supporting vendor. I only do a few a year. I really enjoy them. I do one at a time so I can give it my full attention. As many of you know, I recently finished ALGZ06's 9.5 second car.
AJROTHM contacted me a few months ago after his motor went soft on a couple of cylinders. It's a silver 2002 Z06 with a D1.
It started out as just a motor swap and tune. Since we share the same disease, it's evolved in to a really exciting setup. We're doing an iron 408 with a Callies crank and rods, Wiseco pistons, MAST heads, a cam from Arun, F1R, 10-rib, Dewitts Radiator, reusing the LS6 intake, 1000cc injectors, revamping the Alky Control system, and doing a custom fuel system that I designed from scratch.

Here's a few pics.

Removing the engine

Frame cleaned up

Cradle cleaned up

Fender removed to set up the fuel system

factory fuel pump out

custom fuel system and new Alky pump

Thanks for starting a thread Bret. I was going to do a full build thread once we were further along to prevent a long, drawn out, boring build thread but.....Since we're rolling with it, here is some more pics of some of the stuff...

First, this is what we started with...Stock LS6 and a D1SC w/10 psi, made 622rwhp. Lasted 4k miles before #5/7 bit the dust:

Now the new stuff:
New LQ9 6.0 iron block w/Arp studs

Mast Motorsports 245cc heads w/hollow stem SS intake valves and Inconel exhaust valves. Heads flowed 355/245 cfm @ .600" on a 4.030 bore

Callies Compstar H beam rods

Still waiting on crank and pistons...

American Racing 2" headers

Some crappy pics of the F1R..(maybe Bret will post some good pics of it when he opens the box)

The engine combo will be:
402"
9.8-1 compression
Mast 245s
Stock LS6 intake
Callies Compstar rotating assy.
Wiseco pistons
ARP studs through out.
Arun STG 2 blower cam

Other mentionables are an Arun 10 rib setup to go with my A&A bracket, IW 10 rib, 10% OD balancer, Dallas Performance Direct drive, 4" intake. Dual Nozzle Alky Control meth. McLeod RXT clutch, Tick MC and most important is Bret's custom fuel system that he designed (based on what I wanted)....

I'm excited about the build, The car has been down since early March of this year, I figure we are still 2 months out from completion. I will be updating the thread as we go as I am sure Bret will too.

Thanks for looking!

I think I've almost got Arun talked into moving down here, so pack your **** and come on!! You'll pick up at least 100RWHP just putting your car on Texas soil.

80 lbs more r less seem even more if one person is working with that iron block by your self. Robert

Here's a comparison pic of a D1 next to a F1X that I happen to have sitting in my garage.
