Default Poeple with 150-shot, do you retard your timings?

Hi Guys,

Do you retard your timings at all, when you're on the 150-shot? If yes, how many degree are you retarding yours? (I think they recommend about 2 degrees per 50hp)

How are you retarding yours? Beside the Cartek timing mods, is there any other way to retard your timings? I would like to set it up where I can turn it on when running nitrous and turn off when I'm not.

Thanks
-Tuan

I had 28 maximum on a 150 shot on stock engine and never had any problems.

Now I´m at 25 and even lower for the big shot.

Works perfect.

Just don´t retard too much or you´ll melt your exhaust valves!!

I never did before for 2 years, worked fine. No problems. But after the heads/cam, I did the cartek thing just for safety reasons. No real indication that I need it, but better safe than sorry.

not retarding it at all. I monitor very closely and have yet to experience KR. I like to have as much timing as possible- that is where the power is. this would account for my latest dyno of 500rwhp and 688rwtq!!!

This goes against conventional thinking, but with nitrous, since it burns slower, if you retard timing you make more power.
