Default Are 1 3/4" headers too small for FI

Hey,

I am thinking of going with the XS Power headers and they are only available in 1 3/4". Seem like agood bang for the buck for under $900 with cats. I am currently at 500RWHP with a stock engine and an A&A kit. I know 1 7/8" are recommended, but it seems like a lot more money to pay for a little more power. I feel like the extra money could be better spent.

Any opinions?

Wow, If you can run a 1000 RWHP with 1 3/4" I guess size really doesn't matter (LOL)

Thanks Robert for the info.

If you don't have any headers at all yet just go 2" from the beginning

If your not trying to maximize your setup then the 1 3/4 are fine. The XS power are half the price and going to fit better than the 2".

900 rw at 15 psi and 1 3/4 LG pros and 5.80 in the 1/8 on a 402. Headers will be the last thing we upgrade on this car. Needs more blower at the moment. F1a is out of air

1.75" headers on a Ysi powered 364 making 915whp. Yeah it's getting choked a bit but they are still workin well. I to would vote for bigger headers if its an option, these will get swapped out this winter.

Me and Arun@ccp installed ARH 2" on his car, it was a breeze, we were ready for any installment issues but those surprise us, went so easy. I would say ARH 1 7/8 from the start.

I did the 1 7/8 off the bat because i knew I was going FI. I went with Stainless works. They where 1150 shipped so in between xs and ARH. I love them.

If your no hurry to buy headers keep an eye out in the parts for sale section. I picked up a set of LG Pro's 1 7/8 coated headers, mid pipe with no cats for $600 that looked new. You can come across some really good deals.
