The day that changed my life.............
When I was given this magazine from a friend.
I got my first 91 Mustang GT in the summer of 91
92 tried my hand at NOS-not my cup of tea.....
93 slapped on a Vortech A-trim
Went to the track and only ran 14.0@103-went home with my tail bewteen my legs.
My friend gave me this magazine to read,
Went back to the track and ran 11.5@117
94 put on a S-trim and ran 10.4@133 and split the stock 302 bock in half
95 put on a Novi 2000 and ran 9.6's@145........
The rest is history
Believe it or not-I learned so much from this magazine.
Probably not the best forum section to post but I figured this was the best place to share with you guys.

Funny, I had a 91GT with s-trim at 8psi and 100hp NOS. I nearly went bankrupt tearing up AOD's. My son who's 17 just got this 88, and he's making a list of all the mods he wants, but can't afford. New project!

I've had fox bodies ever since I was 16 I love them. The main reason was I couldn't afford to build a vette. I now have a 89 fox 347 stroker Afr heads inter cooled novi 2000 with a auto c 4 sitting next to my vette waiting to get tuned. I think a lot of us started with mustangs because they were cheeper to build and were fun to drive

Cool thread man....
I was feeling nostalgic a few weeks ago and uploaded some pics of my first ride...
It started for me in 92', I was 16 and got my first car, 78' Trans Am, 400" pontiac....Slow as crap...Probably ran 16s.... Didnt take long for the modding to begin... I kept getting drug by those pesky 5.0 Mustangs that were all the rage back then.... They were the enemy to me...
Oct 92'... LOL
Late 93 or early 94, Built my first motor, (rebuilt the 400). Car ran 14.50@93, stock converter/2.56 gears.
1995, My senior year in HS, Built another 406" Pontiac with a decent set of stock ported heads, 9.5 comp, ultradyne hyd flat tappet (and then eventually a solid flat tappet). Ran 13.00@102 on motor, 12.30@110 on a 125 hp shot.
Changed heads to some higher compression, better ported heads, back to the same old Ultradyne hyd flat tap, changed intake setups, 11.90@110 on motor, 1.60 60'. NO SPRAY
Finally in 99'... Still a 406" pontiac, now a low compression, hyd flat tappet, 200 shot, 10.90s@125.
I sold it in early 2000 after 8 years and my journey with LS cars/fast street bikes began... I still love that ole TA.... The battles we had on the weekends with the 5.0 Stangs was PRICELESS......Every week we were modding and looking for ANYTHING to give us a tenth or a car length gain to use on the street.... It was a great era to grow up in for street racing...
Wish it was still like that today.
Great thread!

Cool thread Arun.
Supercharged my first car in 1990/1, it was 89 IROC. That car is in my garage at home right now. It went from an SN93 with the 305 (total pig by todays standards) to now it has a Dart bowtie block with Brodex heads and an F2. With custom ECS brackets of course.
The rest is history.

Very cool thread! I bought my 5.0 LX new in 1992. I slapped a basic Paxton kit on it and ran Fun Ford events for a few years. Then, I moved to California and caught the road racing bug. Here's my old #87 from back in the day...

Agree, cool thread. I'll post mine up. 1993 Mustang GT purchased in 1999 bonestock. I went through many different combinations with this car. 3 engines, 3 transmissions, 2 rearends, numerous clutches. The first shortblock was built in my parents garage, then loaded in the trunk of my wife's car and installed in the driveway.
The combination that I had the most fun with was an 8.5:1, 306 with Anderson Ford Motorsports Trick Flow Stg 4 heads, Trick Flow R intake, 225/230 cam, and a non-intercooled Vortech R-trim at 18 psi. It went 11.17 @ 128 on the track, but ran well enough to beat LS1's that had a cam, bolt-ons, and 150 shot.
This picture was the final iteration. Same 306 engine but with a Master Power 70mm single turbo and intercooler.

Funny I started off the same way. Had an 87 GT then moved to a 92 notchback with a Paxton SN93 with an E cam. It went downhill from there. I'm always on the lookout for a good shape fox body. They are hard to come by.

Nothing better than a clean 5.0 notch with a B303 cam, GT40 heads and intake, and a pair of Flowmasters! But I'm dating myself now. : )

Then I remember the X and F cams came out, along with the TFS heads.... Then DSS started selling crate short/long blocks for them back in the mid 90s...
Could definitely build fast cars out of a 5.0...
A local down here had a black 5.0 coupe with a 306/ Vortech that ran 10.40s with a stick.... HE was the baddest in the land back then... circa 92'-93'.... He was a relatively young guy too... I think his parents gave him lots of moola...
