A and a has a lower rad spoiler relocation kit that sets it up better to suck air from under the car. Switch to e85 and u will solve ur cooling issues too.

where can I buy a filler plate with mesh in it or do I have to make my own?

hope I can get this all back together
I could not believe how close the heat exchanger was to the radiator. Post some pics up if you can. Good luck.

Got the fascia off and you can see the intercooler hanging down by one bracket

After I removed it and cleaned up the mess from the Dexcool I cut out a portion of the shroud behind where I am going to mount the intercooler.

I picked up some aluminum at the hardware store to make my new brackets, drilled holes and then bent them so I could attach the new brackets to the underside of the frame

Hmmmmm...I thought I took a pic after I bent the aluminum but I guess not. Anyway I bent the aluminum and trimmed off the excess. I drilled two mounting holes in the bracket and corresponding holes into the frame. I attached the unit with 2 large self tapping screws on each side.

Hopefully tomorrow I can run the new pieces of hose, refill the system and start the fun of putting this all back together Obviously I still need to cut the opening behind the filler plate but right now I want to make sure it will go back together with no issues and go from there...

more to follow

had to get A&A lower relocation kit with the bigger radiator but you guys are lucky with the e85 near the house. We're in Carolina. Folks still bitching about the 10%, and they know nothing about e85..

Nice work Pewter!

I have to say that I never had problems with coolant temps with my Maggie and running the A/C in the Texas heat.
The fact that it's done it from day one still makes me wonder if both of your fans are working properly and spinning the right direction. I sure hope your problems are solved.

yeah its weird some people have an issue and others don't..... I expected the SPAL fans to make a difference....sadly no...but today I will start on putting it back together and depending on progress as I don't have a full day we will see where we end up...go back to work tomorrow so I may not get this done till next week with my schedule

My thought would be the second fan isn't running or running on less then full power.

Got the front end back on but still have to tie up some things on the underside and then of course address the opening.

Hey great work mate, that little guy looks like he needs a bowl of water
lol.
Really hope you get a result with the mods.

Is there any way the ac compressor is slightly seized and adding load to the motor ? just a thought.

Also, can you get it tuned to kick the fans in at a lower temp .

Sorry i can`t help more, i tend to go out in my cars to get warm here in the uk lol.

Looks like she is almost back together now. Looks like a fun little job. Hope all the work lowers the temp,s on her for you. I had to do the same thing to mine when I had the Kenne Bell on the car.But also put the tiger shark front on her. Robert

Don't waste your time with any old metal screen.

You can get nice SS screen at McMaster Carr
