Default BlownBlue version 4.0 --another motor for my baby

Many of you know about my latest adventures. Not long ago, I bought an F2 and then a 4.5" thick custom intercooler from Dallas Performance. I also did 3.5" piping between the F2 and intercooler and 4" out. Then I made a custom fiberglass bellmouth intake. That picked me up more than 6lbs of boost over what the 4" filter and pipe made. My block didn't like the added pressure and the cylinder caved in at the water jacket. GM decided that should have happened and warrantied it for me. Now begins my new build. I'm calling it 4.0.
My Trick Flow 245 LSX 6 bolt heads with new intake valves and PAC springs, my Victor Jr intake with the 6061 elbow and direct port nitrous by Nitrous Outlet, my T&D shaft mount rockers, my 4.155" Wiseco pistons, my custom blower cam and pushrods and some other miscellaneous items will be up for sale soon if anyone's interested..

My talented friend, Halston, owner of hsquaredracingengines.com is building my motor.

Here's some recent build pics and what led up to the build:

Intercooler mount reinforced

I paid a shop to build me a shroud when painting the car and he screwed it up royally, so I built my own.

Had to build a new 4" charge pipe

Had to build a new top shroud

And a new 3.5" charge pipe with triple Tials

After some thought, I didn't feel as though I had enough meat for the silicone coupler to grab on to, so I welded V-band rings on the intercooler and charge pipe to make sure it didn't pop off and ruin my new paint job.

For my race setup, I built a bellmouth from scratch out of fiberglass.

It gained me 6psi of boost and the block didn't like it much.
Just like the night of my honeymoon.....it felt great for a few seconds and then BAM!!

The piston is fine. The water jacket just fell back and the engine was done.

I've ordered a bunch of parts. So far all that's come in is my heads. They're already at Hsquared Racing Engines facility. Halston will be putting in a set of custom Del West titanium valves as soon as they arrive.

Stay tuned. This should be fun.

What sucks is when you buy the best parts money can buy and still have problems.

Good luck on the build buddy.

Hey Bret....I remember about 2 years ago you were going to sell the Blue Beast, we are all glad you didn't so we can continue to see your outstanding work and attention to detail on a C5

I think your wife took pics last time she was here, but it's possible she forgot with all the distractions.

Another LSX. They reinforced the water jackets with the new block, so if it breaks again, hopefully it'll be something different and original.
