Default WARNING if using Proform LS valve covers!

I recently had the baffles off to install a couple -10AN fittings to mine for crankcase ventilation. The covers have a 3/8" hose connection already on them from Proform. So you would assume it's the same on the inside under the baffle, right?.... WRONG.

It's smaller than 1/8" pinhole on the inside. If you're running these covers and using the vent tubes, or plan to, then I strongly recommend you make some changes before you start pushing seals out.

There are a few indirect photos of them on mine in here:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-f...5-lives-3.html

No leaks so far. They have a rubber washer to seal to the bolts.

I didn't use the coil brackets. Mounted the coils in the fenders instead.

I run those. Thanks for the tip. I run the drivers side nipple with 3/8 hose to atmosphere but I also have a breather on the oil fill hole with a 5/8 hose. Both run to the back of the car.

I do like these covers.

They look like nice covers. Easy fix for the 3/8 nipple to the pin hole size under the cover. Definitely glad you pointed it out for other who may not pay attention. How much are the covers?

I want to say mine were ~$425 with the coil brackets. They're similar look and quality to Katechs which are ~$400 but their coil brackets are another ~$200.

Don't forget they also clear the alternator without modification, unlike the Katechs!

Stock ones are the same way too! You need to have them hogged out if installing a AN fitting on the covers!

Thanks,Matt

Regarding the PROFORM LS valve covers...only the driver side cover (PCV) has the swaged tip. The passenger side tube is wide open. Lots of internal clearance inside for big rocker setups.

Please post a couple pictures if you can, I'd love to see how they look on your engine.

Great looking valve covers....but the ventilation efforts from them are pitiful...

Good thing you checked em Jon.

Nice! Your engine says thank you I cleaned and used a little loctite on the screws when I put the baffle back in. I don't think they had any from Proform, and made me nervous.

How's the new engine and 62/65's doing?
