Not unless he bought some and installed them. I bet this was a fuel supply issue unless the tune was way off.

Shouldn't race with low fluid. I never go below half tank.

I knew I remembered this build from last year and some of the other discussions.

Do you remember this discussion? http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1581214837-post75.html

Did you ever add a methanol injection kit to the car?

Unless you lost fuel, you should have damaged a forged motor at that power level
Really interested in finding out what happened

I have noticed on the wideband and datalogged with hptuners, the air/fuel ratio going lean at a half tank or less of fuel. I then filled the tank up and the condition went away. I didn't start noticing this issue until until 550 to 600 rwhp.

My solution has been to either keep the tank above half full on the gauge when racing or if I'm on a long trip, I don't make WOT pulls until after a stop for fuel.

The other soulution would be to go with an external pump that draws from the lowest rearward portion of the tank. At the point, 3/8 of a tank might be sufficient but a 1/4 of a tank may still be risky.

Crap man, sorry for sh*t luck! I'd be crying the blues for sure!, good luck finding out what caused it, I know someone mentioned the #7 cylinder is there a reason that people lose this one ? Sorry if that's a stupid question, just curious.

I'm running crap street tires with a 400 tread rating, so its not like I was tearing the pavement up with all my traction and causing all the fuel to slosh awkwardly.

No traction with less load could put you further up in timing table making you run more timing than the ****** fuel could stand.

Hate to here your lose.

Yes a bit of pity, G/L sorting it out and fixing it, but like a fast guy told me - what doesn't kill us will only make us faster...

Interesting theory. Never heard of that happening.

I lost a built forged Audi engine years ago on the dyno on the first pull after the build... on very very low boost... the fuel system couldnt keep up and detonated a hole in cylinder 6 dumping the coolant into the cylinder hydrolocking the motor pushing the rod out the side of the block...

Was a ****** situation... after that i ran a surge tank in the engine bay that holds enough volume of fuel to prevent any fuel issues..

Blew a fully built engine breaking it in at the race track. Low boost as well but was a ford engine (do I need to say more? Lol) anyhow made the pistons stick in the bores and toasted it.

It hurts a lot but take it as a lesson and as a hit to the wallet but get up and get er Goin again. Name of the game.

IDK. If its just the one piston then I basically have to pay to rebuild the entire motor anyway. I just don't have to buy as many parts. But how can I put it back together without knowing what went wrong?
