Default fuel system question

I have a late 2003 c5z with the c6 fuel system. I have holley fuel rails, magnafuel regulator, 4301 pump with the 2 filters. My intentions are I just want to turn off the stock pump that feeds the fuel to the rails and tap the side of the fuel tank to run a -12 line to the pump for a feed. I was under the car yesterday and noticed one line goes to the driver tank and another goes to the passenger. Is the one that goes to the passenger side a breather?

if your talking about the line on the fuel hat, no its a "jet pump" or siphon pump.. it brings gas from one side to another. You need the stock pump to circulate the fuel back and forth.. there is no electric pump in the passager tank.

Why not run a hobbs switch to control the on/off of your secondary pumps to turn on only under boost?

found a pic of the my pump.. is just works of suction..

Don't like them. so the stock pump Also pushes fuel back and forth from the tanks.

The stock pump is also used to create a motive flow that is passed from the left tank and is used by the jet pump in the right tank to get the fuel out of there.

So how do I get the stock setup working where fuel is still transfered from both tanks and my fuel level guage still works. The tap the side of the tank to run my stand alone system.

I'm concerned you're about to get yourself in a situation here. The reason I say that is because I've fought the fight trying to keep a customers external pump alive after the guy that sold it to him yanked all his stock stuff out. It got really ugly. The external pumps will overheat and cavitate after a while and when that happens, the pump will eat itself. The solution for that was to run a PWM controller on the pump. In the end, it turned out to be a hell of a lot of time, money and headaches for zero gain.
ECS has the recipe for blocking off the stock regulator so that you can use the internal pump in tandem with your external on a WOT or boost trigger and have it externally regulated. That is the absolute best recipe for success in this case.

I don't wanna pull the pumps out. Simply stop the pump from feeding the rails. Leave the other pump moving fuel back and forth from tanks and have the fuel level still work

Why try and hassle with that? Just get a "y" fitting and combine your stock pump with the aftermarket one! Like blownblue said, you are going to run into problems and spend more money trying to figure out some way of getting rid of the stock pump.

Why are you against Hobbs switches?

I'm not trying to get rid of it lol just turn it off. What if I take the stock pump line and just run it into the passenger tank

Well, you are going to need to have it on because of the passenger side siphon. The only thing that I would suggest is to get to the pump and disconnect the line.

so if it has to be on. what about looping the line to the passenger tank and then everything would be fine and dandy correct?
