Default New Best/60'

Not as fast as some of you in here, but at least I ran .007 better today. I got 4 passes in before getting kicked out. The first 2 passes I hit the brakes and ran 12.679@86.92 and 11.370@98.56. Third run was 10.883@130.24 and final run is below:

Anyone have suggestions on roll cages? Also, I noticed that on the top end of the track, the car was a little unstable in the front end both at high speed and when slowing the car down drastically (short track). I think it's because I was using M&H skinnies (bias ply) and Hoosier DR's. Thoughts?

Kicked out, that must have been at E-town

What air pressure you running front & rear, shouldn't be squirrely at those speeds

Nice run but with the bias in front and the DR in the rear can get that way with the 2 diff type's on the car or feel like it getting on the brakes hard with that small tire on the front also..

Actually it was Island..lol.. my air pressure was 36psi in the front skinnies and 32psi in the rears. I couldnt play with the psi too much because there was no air compressor at the track (they must have removed it). Plus, I drove to and from the track with the tires on.

Thanks! I was thinking this but wasn't sure. Significant braking with skinnies on the front is an eye-opener when there isn't a lot of room to slow the car. I don't know how the guys running 140mph+ are doing it at that track. Must be slamming on their brakes with a nosedive.

That plus the PADS they are using also. Pads will not last that long but at a 1/4 mile at a time. Plus they are hard on the rotors also in the heat..Robert

Look into a custom cage. None of the pre-made ones weld to the frame, which is necessary on a full frame car like a corvette.

Nice 60'!! I don't think I'd ever see a # like that! Best I've seen is 1.67 in a different car I use to race. I have 3.15's that are holding me back a bit too I think. The car seemed to hook well at 32 psi and a good heating of the tires. Iwas surprised. I launched at about 1500. As for the cage, I will look into that. I think ECS knows of a reputable fabricator. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks for the help everyone.

Thank you. I launch mine from 4600-4800 lol

If you're looking into a cage because the track wouldn't let you race, I believe NHRA rules state that you can have a roll bar up to 10.49.
