Everyone has me worried with all of the gremlins that have cropped up on their builds this year. I hope this thing fires up and goes without issue.

LOL, 1 year anniversary of the thread is on Monday. The 2 year anniversary of the engine failure is in November. My goal is to have it running before November. I think it's doable given what remains. I had one good workday this weekend. A few more of those and it should be ready.

Whats your thought on the clutch? I'm thinking that RXT might hold on low boost on this monster. I really wish they would crank up the pressure plate on them as the feel so light anyway. Good luck

I thought they were using a V6 camaro pressure plate?

Any truth to this? It would explain the very light pedal. Seems like a little stiffer pressure plate might be the ticket. Not sure how it would effect the engagement at the track. This clutch was perfect at 800 to 850 rw on bias ply tires with a manual.

I've been told by a reputable source that that is what they use on the RST. I know very little about their lineup, so it may not apply to the RXT (or it may).

Hard to say about the v6 pressure plate. It's a very small plate, almost too small to be from a GM v6, but I can't say for sure. All I know is mine works great.

I've talked to them and seems like it is rated for a max of 1000 ft-lbs. I'm planning to start off tuning on the waste gate springs and hoping to see 10 to 12 psi. I've seen mixed results on whether this is possible with full 3" exhaust and no mufflers. Over the course of a few months I'll slowly increase the power and see where the limit exists. In a way, it's disappointing knowing that I may be doing a clutch job within the year but I've done it a few times and it's not bad. I have a 2nd RXT that needs to be sent in a for a rebuild. I plan to ask them if there is anything they can do to add another 200 ft-lbs to the capability. If they can't increase the holding capacity, I'll have it rebuilt and then sell it.

Ben,
Pat Jerding is running the step up from the RXT in his Camaro. I think they're calling it the street twin although that was the name of the old borg and beck style McLeod. this one is an RXT based one that holds a few hundred more tarks.

Good news Bill. Thanks for the info. How is it working out for him? Have you driven it?

Great work, Ben. Getting so close!! You're going to be just in time to shake out any bugs, and be in prime weather for track
(PS - your a/c line materials came in. Will get them out to you assembled on Monday )

I sure am liking Red Line D4 in mine. Have tried GM stuff and Amsoil. So far D4 has been the smoothest

I disassembled the waste gates to remove a few shims. It looks like the driver side had a little corrosion inside. This is the same side of the engine that experienced failure, but I'm not sure what would have caused any liquid to enter this portion of the WG. I cleaned it up and pressurized the bottom port to verify function. It stroked fine and the diaphragm held pressure.
-Passenger side for comparison, shown with 2 shims for now (5 shims on the last setup).

For turbos in this range the compressor cover measurements are:
B cover = 2.8'' inlet, 2.0'' outlet
E cover = 3.0'' inlet, 2.0'' outlet
S cover = 4.0'' inlet, 2.5'' outlet
In order to get an 'e' cover to fit a TTiX kit, you have to re-route the discharge piping on the driver's side like JM did here with the Precision 6266:
B cover = 2.8'' inlet, 2.0'' outlet
E cover = 3.0'' inlet, 2.0'' outlet
S cover = 4.0'' inlet, 2.5'' outlet
