Keep it up
I agree. The stock motor stuff was cheap and easy and worked well. I was disappointed at first and then excited about the new build. Then you start looking at all the time and effort and dollars that goes into a build and there are mixed feelings. The fun part has been learning the technical stuff and trying to put together a good combination. The best part will be driving and racing it again and hopefully participating in a larger variety of events.

I hear you. It's tough waiting to finish the build, but I've been stuck working almost everyday at work since July 7th. I have some time off planned and hope to get the bulk of the parts installed. I'm currently making a list to make sure I have everything to prevent any last minute part runs or overnight deliveries.

When is yours going back together?

It was nice to meet you man. Your car should haul when it's done.

Lighter weight, better heat management and plenty of fresh air to the compressor inlets.

I finally got a little bit of time to do some work. I started off re-shaping the ports on the manifolds to better match the shape of the LS7 exhaust port.

Now to take care of the passenger side motor mount where it hits an unused bolt boss...

I thought this would be a good location for the LS1 knock sensors, so a little more grinding:

After mocking up the turbos it was clear that this location wouldn't work.

I bought some used Pfadt motor mounts over a year ago and found out that the studs were missing. Another scramble to come up with a solution...

Next on the list was to give the cradle and suspension parts a good cleaning after 86,000 miles on the street.

Almost like new

Looks really good, especially the port matching on the manifolds.

The rest of the available time was spent wrapping the manifolds and mounting the turbos, feed lines, and drain lines. Hopefully I'll get a chance during the week or this weekend to install the engine.

Here are some shots of the progress:
