Default IDK Maybe...

I really like my 04' coupe MN6.I also spend way too much time on Corvette Forum just reading. I did not really like the car show thing, then I started to read some on the C5 FI/Induction forum. From what I can see most of you guys are really talented and way above my knowledge base. I might want to play this game so here you go:

Goal would be a 500 rwhp, 90% street driven with ocassional trip to NJMP and Atco Dragway. Stock lower end and stock 241 heads. My choice is to work with ECS Super Charging and add the Novi 1500 later in my build.

I would like to begin with:

ECS small blower cam
Katech C5r timing chain
Mellings High Volume oil pump
PRC dual spring kit- titanium retainers, titanium seats, Vitron valve seals
TFS pushrod set
IW 8 rib standard balancer
Comp Cams Trunion Upgrade
ARH 1-3/4 headers w/ cat back
ECS Dyno Tune

Currently running a Vararam Vr-b2 with Z06 cat back. Current suspension has been upgraded to C5Z springs, sways and 04' Z06 shocks. Drive train upgrade would come after super charger install if i get that far.

Am i azz backwards?

With those added mods, you would only need to run about 4-5 psi to achieve 500whp. Your setup seems fine to me. I'd bump with ECS and see if they have any other suggestions.

Your drivetrain should be up to the task for that power level. Maybe add an ECS trans brace to your list.

I just installed a ECS novi 1500 kit on my Z06, and like you I had the vararam intake system which was ditched in favor for the one that comes in the ECS kit...I reached 562 rwhp and 519 rwtq,

you can start any where you want. how many miles are on your car?

You probably don't need to spend the money on the oil pump. I had the same pump in my build to start with and had over 100 lbs of pressure so we took it out. The stock one does just fine for my build. 408 procharged 15# boost 700+RWHP

I asked for the Mellings pump, the builder did not say no. I just assumed the pump should be upgraded because I am right there with the cam swap. I'll ask the question today.

500 rwhp is super easy

My car with A&A kit si trim 3.6 pulley, cam, headers, and meth did 605 rwhp 530 tq with stock 241 heads. I have since pulled cats out swapped to ported 317s and pullied down but no new dyno #s.

For your goal, just get the blower, and skip all the rest.

I would agree with that statement. The stock balancer looks weak, no wobble, just rusted. It just doesn't look reliable. So with a blower install replace the balancer. Since the balancer is being replaced why not upgrade the oil pump and timing chain, why not a cam and so on. The headers are just a preference.
The correct answer is to probably just replace the balancer, install the blower and have some fun! I would still do the trunnion upgrade but skip the headers.

Going with the ECS small blower cam upgrade with headers and six rib stock balancer replacement for now. May be the super charger next year.
