Default Ready for the Texas Mile

Finished prep work on the car today. We leave Florida for Texas on Tuesday. Should be a ton of fun. Any guesses on what it will run? It makes low-800's with a 406 breathing 16+psi from an F1R Procharger.

MN6 trans with 3.73 rear gears. I'm taking a 28" tire and a 26.8" tire. The shorter tire will put me at 7,000 rpm in 5th gear at 200 mph. The taller tire will be 6,600 rpm at 200. We'll see what it likes.

Good luck Neil!!

Remember extra belts, plugs, oil, spark plug wires, wide band O2 sensors...

The Mile is very addicting... I hope you break 200mph.

I will guess 197-198mph, Hope you make it over 200. Remember to set it up for the bumps. If you need anything, I will be in the grey bus at the 1/2 mile mark. Will be there Thursday afternoon.

Good weather and steady shifting you shouldnt have any issues going 196+. Total speed depends on tune and setup reliability, good luck and be safe.

Get it done, Neil! Looks like a front will be pushing through, DA should drop. Definitely hit up Arnold out there for advice. Splash some 100+octane in their if you're not on corn. I've got to charter some friends out of SPI this weekend, but if I get my boat locked up, I'll head up to Beeville around 10am Sunday.

South Florida car? Nice.

Best wishes on the event. "I" think a properly shifted/tuned setup making 800rwhp could hit 200mph in the mile.....weather or not all of the elements line up to allow that to happen, is another story. Happy hunting dude.

Hey Neil, I may make a road trip for the day on sat to Beeville, if I do, I'll come find your pit to meet up.

I know of a couple other local big power vettes that will be running sat as well.

Good luck Neil! I know you can drive that thing!

I'm gonna guess 205.

P.S. Never knew you had this until I saw your posts about tire size recently. Have fun and be safe!

We only got 2 passes today. First pass was 188.1 mph for licensing. Second pass was 191.4 mph. IAT's were sky high and the tune was pulling a bunch of timing. Switched from 50/50 to 100% meth for Run 3. Put the car in pre-grid and waited for 2 hours. Tried to fire the car up for the run and the TPS sensor went out. We're hitting up the local Chevy dealer first thing tomorrow. We'll keep at it.
