C6 cradle exhuast issues
Like the title says guys, I'm at that point in my swap. My exhaust isn't going to fit. I've talked to a few people and they said to cut out a few inch's on the x-pipe, and add what was cut out to the top of the axle over.
How ever instead of just cutting id like to see what others have done with pictures possibly.
Kooks x-pipe and corsa axle back, idk if that info helps.

All aftermarket pipes are not the same if you have not got the stock exhaust on your car. The angle's going up and over the rear. You need to hang your mufflers in the hangers and just work your way back. But it is between a good 2 to 3 inch's that has to be cut.
I did have stingers on my car, then chg that to GHL exhaust had to do a diff amount due to the pipes and the angle's of the diff exhaust. But the x pipe I didn't cut the 2nd time.

I've actually done a few of those swaps, Bret B. helped me out with the specifics.
We are up to our eyeballs in projects, maybe this is something we can have for a "Production ARH item" if there was enough demand?

Le Mans Master
I need to upgrade to 3" exh and am interested in installing a c6 cat back system with flappers and a straight shot. I know I'll have to hack up the package tray, and I have the battery and a meth tank back there so it might be tough to package everything
thanks!
thanks!

You can put each one of those items on each side of the car in those holes. Batt on the pass/side meth on the other. Robert

Yea I didn't expect it to be a direct fit,...cut off the flanges-make it work, go V band,...stop messing with band clamp stuff and 15mm bolts/nuts that brake or come apart after a few times you remove them. I say that in general of course.

Nice JAB lol. Didn't you just spend BIG $$$ having your car built? The flanges are turbo related technology,...you don't have to be boosted to run a vband assembly. You see Robert, you gotta think of it like this. Think of a fuel system. You can buy a low cost 255 pump...put it in your car...build...add...whatever...then you need more pump...so you put a little larger...then you build,..add, whatever...then you need another pump. Spend more money...throw away more money.
Buy the right pump the first time around.
Same mentality with the exhaust, and EVERY other part in the car. In the end, a Vband assembly is like 50 bucks,...when you have a 15k motor,..10k blower kit... whats another 100 bucks in flanges that will make your life easier?
I am on probably more of a budget then any two people on this forum,,,,it isn't about money, it's about using the money that I have, wisely. You'll spend what on a standard ez clamp or accuseal clamp? 20 bucks? Each? You'll replace it in a couple of years if you remove your exhaust often.....why not spend the right money once,...and last longer? Replacement CLAMPS(vbands) jobber price(less then retail) at 15 bucks..... less then a standard typical exhaust flange.
When you look at it like that,..Vbands aren't a lot of money bro. My TIME, is money. If I can spend more money today, so i don't have to work tomorrow,...I will do it. Don't wanna get into a match about the right thing, the wrong thing,...or even any dollar amounts. Vbands are a simple, smart choice.

With all do respect, sell the soccer mom Tahoe, spend all money on 'racecar' and LET HER EAT!!!!!
...........However, (comma) V-bands are good looking

There is a thread here somewhere in the past year or two.
Not sure if it was cut-n-play or there was some tubing that needed to be tweaked.
But it was done in the "under 6 hour" kind of project.
