Default mahle pistons for boost

pulled my heads and discovered these pistons...4032 alloy..were holding 21psi..lol

i think its time to start from scratch..lol..sent doug at ecs a pm on this see what he thinks..

I've seen um on a few builds. Id rather diamond or wiseco personally but they appear to be holding pretty well.

Few stock pistons out there pushing big numbers too

Did an inspection on them ..dont see any cracks up top...seems to still look new w 914rwhp..lol

Don't think Paul you will have any problems out of them at all. With a blower and if you put a lot of NOS on top of that maybe a diff story.

Ok sounds good heard they were junk but been holding up long time already well this ls3 416 has 2800miles and is 3 years old

Fresh set of head gaskets and studs good to go

If you were doing a build from scratch, I certainly wouldn't choose it. Conversely, I've done builds with stock bottom ends that have sustained massive beatings for years, running well in excess of 20psi and never having an issue. It's only when it breaks that the "I shouldas" will start flying. My luck dictates that once I'm aware of some short-coming like this and don't change it, I'll certainly bet bitten right square in my *** for it.
Stay on the right side of your tune and you'll be fine for many years to come.

I'd be more worried about the rods, most likely Mahle rods also
