Default To Meth or not?

How many of you have done Meth and been happy with the results vs price? Mine is a ECS small blower cam, 1500 kit and bolt on's made 560 from my boy Doug at ECS which probably is a little low considering but Meth should put me at 600ish

I say do it, I'm happy with how mine runs... I've watched my iats drop in the hot tx heat from around 110 to high 60 degrees... in my opinion you may be ok at the power level you are at right now but if you start going higher you're gonna need the extra octane/cooling to keep it safe

I run 100% meth and would not turn back. The gas at these pumps suck. I have more confidence with my motor at top rpm's running meth. My stock LS2 made 573 rwhp with meth. Run 100% meth. No windshield washer fluid. I don't trust the crap in the washer fluid. The price of meth is cheap. $4-$5 a gallon. It does not pump constantly into the motor. A gallon of meth last me about 2 tanks of gas. When you get 800+ horse power, is when you start to burn up meth. Talk it over with Doug at ECS, guarantee he will tell you to run 100% meth.

At your hp level I wouldn't do it. It's just something to stop spraying and lean out the motor and kaboom . You really don't need it. This is just my opinion only.

If Meth is setup properly the motor will NOT go KABOOOM when its not spraying...

I use Meth/Water in my personal car, and have done plenty Meth kit installs with dyno tuning afterwards..

^ Meth Kit BEFORE and AFTER on a STOCK to the Catback 05 Auto C6 LS2 with an ECS Paxton 1500 kit...

This is where I'm at, not really ready to build a motor right now. Honestly thought I'd be closer to 6xx with out it. But it is what it is! And have full trust in Doug's judgement!

You are on the edge of it being recommended. Doug knows his stuff. I would follow his advice.

I am further past the edge at 606/531 93 pump only and ran this way for about 2 years and 15,000 miles. I did just got a twin nozzle alky control kit and will be installing and changing a few things this winter.

I don't disagree with anything posted above. At your power level, I would use 51% water 49% meth (Snow boost juice)
Reasoning.
A. Safety (meth burns clear)
B. You would be double fueling your engine.. (is your car that radical?)

You should tune for it. Just tell the tuner what your doing. should not be an issue..
(set up to pull timing if the iat's spike.)

Even a super safe tune should get you 50+ hp.

ECS does all my tuning and Doug's tuning is always spot on, no question there. The car is not radical with a small blower cam by any means. By time got to the track before the end of the season it went 11.1@ a click under 130! So car has a solid 10.x in it. And then the question comes up to put a cage in it not really feeling that!!! Would I like to build a small cubed forged motor?...Hell yes, LOL but it's really more of a street car so for the extra 40-50 horse, price of a meth kit and another tune, I really still dunno......It looks like were at a 50/50 decision.

Honestly I haven't looked at them yet. I only just recently put the blower on and haven't really driven it much.

I was at 560rwhp for 2 years here in Tx. I could of used it then during the hot summer months just to help keep the IAT's down & from it pulling timing. Recently finished up some more stuff on the car & now I'm over 650rwhp. Was much higher but my LS7 clutch said hell no so dialed it down till that's changed out. Alky control was added this go around mostly for insurance but did allow more power to be added. Honestly I say go for it! You may not need it now, but like most of us your going to want it at some point down the road. You don't have to go all out and make it a meth dependent tune. Just use it to help keep your IAT's down, plus your adding some octane. I use 100% meth just to help keep things simple. Your in good hands if Doug is doing your work.
