Default Exhaust recomendations

Plain and simple, whats the quietest yet highest flowing muffler setup for our cars. The rest will be custom, as its coming from a pair of turbos and snaking around a 4L80e with a giant tranny pan so don't worry about that.

Car is as sleeperish as a vette can get and I'd like to maintain that so....whats my best bet.

Hard to say, maybe you could do a custom setup in the tunnel?

No real room in the tunnel. Looking for a standard style muffler mounting location. Doesn't really even have to be a kit, just the mufflers really. The rest will be done by my chassis guy.

Corsa has always been the quietest I've heard in person. Still has a nice tone though

What about stock mufflers and cutouts before them?

I like my Magnaflows. People have been making good power through them and they are quiet, but have a good, deep rumble to them. Best part...no drone. I'll see if I can get a sound video for you since I finally got my car back and am all about that thing now LOL

That counter acts the "sleeper" part. The car is insanely quiet now and goes like stink. One of those cars that the crowd just kinda goes "WTF was that" even under boost. I'd like to keep it that way. The hangers are just all F'd up on the Ti cans where some boob tired to weld steel hangers on them before I had the car.

Well, since this is going to be a completely custom built system, about the best flowing/quietest mufflers are Pypes RacePros, 3.5" center/Center out. You can also get them in 3" if youre sticking with 3" pipes... Also the walker/dynomax Ultraflows, 3" center in/center out flow extremely well and are VERY quiet... Magnaflow race muffs are a little louder and flow well to...

Obviously, neither of these are going to work in the stock C5 muffler location with the 180* turn around without lots of work. If youre willing to cut the trunk tub out, you can make them working pretty easy with over the axle pipes going straight into the muffs like the C6s do... That's the best way to build a "zero loss" system.

Otherwise, stick with a stock style C5 exhaust like the Ti or something else that's quiet like the Corsa touring system, then put cut outs before the muffs and open them when racing, this is the setup I have.

With your combo, how much do you think you are giving up with the dumps closed?

I have not dynoed or track tested it with the cut outs yet. I use the XS Power 3" cat back with the big mufflers but they neck down to about 2 1/2" inside and make the 180* turn...so I'm sure they hurt power some... I ran 151 mph in the 1/4 thru them, if the cutouts are worth 1 solid mph Id be satisfied... I spent about $700 to do the cut outs and custom pipes.

that is a kinda hard to find... higher flow=more sound, quieter=less flow..

* 2.5" Quietest Muffler Same Side in/out Dynomax Superturbo 17676
http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/17676/10002/-1

* Magnaflow 14210 Same side in/out universal Muffler (louder then Dynomax ST)

* Corsa Touring/Pace Car mellow idle but louder when throttling hard.

*Stock Ti/Stock Ti w/ bypass mod

The stock Ti's really flow that well? Keep in mind the combo in my sig is currently in its most tame settings and still going super easy mid 9's all day long with a full weight ++ car.

Guys claim that they do. I've seen pictures of them cut open and can't hardly belive that they do. I'm switching my setup from modded Tis to borla stingers because I like the sound. Car makes 900whp on setup. Hard to believe the Tis flow well enough on our power levels

After doing a bit of research this all might be a moot point. Rumor has it my car at one point, and maybe still now has a set of one off Borla Ti's. What markings should I be looking for on the cans and where would they be so see if they are indeed stock Ti's.

I make 950 whp all day through stock Ti axle back exhaust. It made a best of 980ish WHP. My cam is my limiting factor. The damn blow off valve and blower is way louder than my exhaust.
Here's one of my first dyno pulls with the Ti exhaust sorry for the dirty car. This one made 920 something.
