Default Do I need to change MAP sensor

Hey guys,
I have a 04 z06 with vortech v2 supercharger install by a&a and I was thinking about going methanol injection with a 3.6 pulley. Boost around 10 11 psi
I wanted to know if I need to change the Map sensor to a BAR 2?
I don't know if it was change when the supercharger was install.
Or should I be good with my stock MAP sensor.
Thanks guys

A MAF tune can be fudged to make end results once the MAF table runs out, however...

A 2 BAR MAP tune is a better way to go and then during Smog time the MAF can be turned back on in order to pass Smog -

But with the '04 I would speak with A&A and gather their thoughts too!

Thanks,Matt

You should run a 2 bar sensor yes. I have one forsale if you are interested it's slightly used but will work flawlessly. 75 bucks shipped. I changed it out to go with a 2.5 bar sensor.

Thanks guys.
So you guys don't think that A&A changed it when they installed supercharger? Because it's on 10 psi

Take a clear pic of your map sensor or get the part number off it and post it up. We can tell for sure that way.

You'll need a complete retune when you change MAP sensors. You can't just buy the sensor and change it (in case that's not totally obvious). I prefer a good 2-bar tune over a MAF tune.

Yea I was going to retune it after I install everything. Do you guys think I can drive the car to get it tune if I change my MAP sensor to bar2 or I would have to get it tow to the tuner. Tuner is like 40 50 mins away from me

Assuming you don't have a 2 bar sensor in there right now, if you change to one the car probably won't run on the current tune. What you could do is drive the car to the tuner with the current sensor and swap it out right there. It don't take too long even on the intake manifold where the sensor is mounted in the back.

Additionally to the comments above - usually A&A's kits do not come with a 2 BAR MAP sensor - unless specified before the install!

So more than likely yours is still on the stock MAF and 1 BAR MAP

Thanks,Matt

Change the MAP sensor at the shop. Takes about 30 seconds to change

Yep it's in the back on the manifold. Disconnect the plug and pull the sensor upward with your fingers and out she comes. It's tough to get at but it can be done.
