Default Ls2/3 oil pan question

I plan on switching to the ls2/3 oil pan from the batwing on my iron block 408. Can I reuse the batwing pickup tube and windage tray? Or does it have to be ls2/3 pan specific?

Can reuse the ones you have. For the 408 you'll need to space the windage tray down. 3 washers was enough to adequately clear the dragonslayer crank and ultra-h rods in mine. This will also push down the pickup tube mount, so you'll need to bend it back up. The bottom bell on the pickup tends to be a bit lower towards the back. Just make sure the lowest point clears the pan by at least 1/4". Use some play-doh to check clearance.

Also, inside the pan the baffles will need to be cut down about the same as you shim the windage tray out. Will make sense when you get there.

Right on, I figured there would be some spacing and trimming regardless. Good info!!! Thanks!
