ECS BOV Noise Reduction Suggestions?
Hi guys..long time listener..first time poster to this thread, please excuse my newby questions..
I just got my car back from the shop with a brand new ECS 1500 installed (Car is all stock LS6, except for ECS kit and Kooks 1 7/8 headers, X pipe, and BB PRTs). Car sounds and runs awesome!
But I cant believe how LOUD the TIAL Q BOV valve is! (I know its the loud one). It sounds like Im dragging a refrigerator box under the car. (kinda ruins my whole sleeper effect I was going for). And it seems to be open for anything above idle.
Is the general consensus to change it to the QR BOV and a lower spring rate?
I also saw a post suggesting a second BOV?
BTW they didn't finish the tune due to an issue with the restrictor plate needing an adjustment, but said it was making about 500 rwhp and 444 rwtq, does that sound ballpark? After the tune is completed next week Ill post the final numbers and some pics.
Thanks guys, appreciate any suggestions!

I hated the Tial BOV tshing everytime I shifted my 6 speed on my A&A kit so I made a T from some white plumbing fittings and recirculated it into the back of the air filter.
Now all I get is a small chirp on hard throttle from the blowoff hitting the impeller.
This is the setup if you want it as quiet as possible.

Thanks again for the idea!

A&A kit has the BOV in the fender well before the intercooler.
you can do it like this also
The grey fittings I got at a pool supply, the white ones Home Depot.
Though not rated for auto use, I've had no issues in 10,000 miles with the white fittings re heat etc. The main T is thick and won't go soft.
I pinned the hoses to the T I made since the flanges on both sides have no lips and were only a nominal 1/2" due to hood clearance

I have the tial bov but it's not loud to me. Maybe it's because of my exhaust setup that I can't hear it, lol. I was trying to find a way to make it louder.

Buy the QR valve
Not a vette but you get the idea.

Finally settled on this to extend the run by adding this box and causing the speed to vary with 3 re stricter bushings along the way.
There's still a bit of tiny short chirping but unless I want to run hoses around the insides of the front end
this is as good as I can get it.
I made it easy to adjust the BOV as well to tune it.
As to louder
Make a cone and add it like a trumpet and have it exiting outside the bodywork underneath somewhere where it won't get wet or dirty if you want it louder

Thanks guys! Awesome info and ideas! I think Im going to try the QR valve first, then add a second/ maybe reroute as needed. I think the Noise is so loud because its up in the hollow nose cone, but has the screened radiator intake, so the air is hitting and bouncing around inside, but because its open to the front you can hear it all. Its basically acting like an amplifier.

Before ECS starting offering the Tial bov they supplied a Bosch bov with their kits. It had a filter and was quite. I don't think it moves the same amount of air, but you could always install two of them and that would be stealth.

Im looking for more of a sleeper-then-boom! approach so I want to quiet it down while Im just running around. I cant believe how this thing screams when you apply right foot..now I have an even bigger traction issue.
The TIAL and the ECS are top notch quality products..ECS is swapping me out for the QR valve (quieter).. Doug and those guys are fantastic.
