Yeah.. I agree. We haven't finished tuning but it made just over 800 so far. That's through an auto and stall. Its getting there.

Good deal. So we can almost rule out belt slip. I know you are looking for an answer for noise but In my head I was trying to get a feel if your boost level was actually low given your combo. What are you running for heads, cam, intake, exhaust, engine displacement and static compression ratio? Also what diameter crank pulley are you running?

Im just a little worried about the bov, if it cant blow off boost the compressor will surge and it could crash the impeller (don't ask how i know hahahaha.)

just sell that bov to someone with a baby blower and get a new trusted one good insurance LOL.

you are tuning on a great dyno!! Dynapac FTW!!

that sounds exactly like the BOV is sticking open under boost. if you can get your hand near it during a pull, you will be able to tell. you shouldn't feel any bypassing air under boost.

Cool... I will get on that tomorrow and report back. You think that combo should make more than 15lbs ?

I could do that I guess. Shame cause its supposed to be a decent unit and only used for a few thousand miles at most. Its a year old.

id pull it off and check for F.O.D. or damage after I checked to see if its working underboost via my hand.

good way of testing blowing air under boost and like mike said its stuck could be in the 1/2 way position from sitting up?

If you have a vacuum tester you could just bench test it apply vac and see if it opens or closes

honestly yes. I think you should be around 17-18 psi. thats not 100% certainty but based on my own very similar combo I say yes. as an example, I have a 403 cid engine with a smaller cam than you but 9.5 to 1 with afr 225 heads and a 2.75 blower pulley on an 8 inch crank pulley and I make 22psi or so. so i think if your car has a 3.0 pulley and it were at 17-18 psi boost that sounds more realistic of what your combo should make. i made 15-16 psi with a 3.33 pulley on the same engine combo.
