Default Thoughts on Twin Turbo Lingenfelter C5's

Just wondering if any of you guys have had one & your experiences. I'm mostly concerned about civility in normal driving. I am considering a TT650. Thanks!

Normal driving will produce stock results, even with one of their cams. They're very mild setups.

I was lucky to drive a nice lpe 550 tt and it was very smooth and responsive and pulled plenty hard

very nice cars. the turbos spool really quick and they are tuned for nice torq and durability rather than all out

a 650 car is likely all you'll need to keep you happy

I have a '99 Vert with the LPE 650 package. It has 43k miles on it and have had it for about 12 yrs. It drives like a stocker when you stay out of the throttle, get's 26mpg on the freeway and has been virtually problem free. I can't say enough good things about LPE, they stand behind their products and build well thought out packages. If the car you are looking at is not tubbed with 335's I would recommend it. Any questions you have I would be happy to answer.

I have a rather unique LPE TT that I'd discuss with you. PM me your number if you want.

I gave serviced a few over the years. Always a quality, oem like build, on each of them. a local friend has had one for a while, and has been modifying it(more so from LPE) with great results. The turbos are maxed just a tad under 700rwhp.

he loves it.

Just sold my 99 Nassau Blue FRC LPE TT 650. Great running car. Pulls hard. Drives like stock until you step into it. 687 RWHP.

This ^^^

I have had my LPE 650TT setup for over 10 years. It has given me no issues. I don't have a lot of miles on my car, or the setup, but that's just b/c I don't take it on highway trips (wife and 2 kids... who now are driving, but were only 7 and 4 when I bought my car new in '02), and I work from home. But the car gets driven.

With the stock Z06 Ti exhaust, no one would think it is modded at idle and cruise. Small turbo cam for the GT28 turbos. I'm still running stock cats, and when the warranty was over I had the boost turned up a bit and it makes the power in my sig (654rwhp). It's still not maxxed... if I yanked the cats, that would help some for sure... but its plenty of power.

Power delivery is seamless and there is extremely little lag. Car has run 139.xx through the traps in the 1/4 mile on 93 octane... plenty fast for me.

On one highway trip (530 miles round trip) 3 years ago, it got 28mpg.

Just understand you will have a big-time sleeper... if a Vette can be a sleeper. It's quiet, and if you open the hood and don't have LPE engine covers, then you really cannot see much of anything that looks modified, except the headers, since the turbos are tucked up underneath by the trans tunnel and the intercoolers are completely hidden in front of the front fender liners. I actually had some teenage kids who didn't believe the car was turbo-charged...then we got on the road, and they could hear the blow-off valves (which are also quieter than what you'd expect from a turbo car). The car is just so unassuming. So... if you need to pop the hood and have everyone _know_ what you've got...then that will disappoint you.

I know I'm kinda late, but thanks. My life got in the way & never pursued the one I was looking at. I do have another in my sights though. It's kinda amazing how many neat vettes are out there, I really like the "tuner" vettes.

A couple of questions about the Lingenfelter twin turbos.
Do they come with boost or fuel pressure gauges;OR does Lingenfelter offer them as options on their packages??
Do they build these packages with such reliability and conservative tuning that gauges are not necessary?
From what i have read almost EVERYBODY that runs an A and A or ECS supercharger is running gauges as well.
I have an 04 C5 convertible with less than 9,000 miles and have been considering something "boosted" for a long time, but for now ,still undecided.
I could call Lingenfelter, but that is one step closer to making a decision!!!
I want to add, while I do not post much at all,I really enjoy reading thee informative posts from you guys with first-hand experience and knowledge. Thanks,Rick

I owned 2 LPE TT 500 package cars. They are simply the best. Drives like a stock LS1 until you give it heavy throttle. I had zero problems with both cars. Highly recommended!

Sorry to bring back a 7 month old thread, but I am doing this for completeness. I did end up buying a 2000 Black on Black Stage II FRC Twin Turbo with a little under 21K on the clock......All I can say is WOW!!!! I do not know why I waited so long to buy one, I guess I was just ignorant of them. It drives like a stock C5, nice, quiet & civil until you put the hammer down! If you are into bling, noise or showing your buddies what's under the hood, then this car is not for you. It's really nice to cruise by Cops & they don't give you the "Stink Eye" with your 550 RWHP. Thanks!
