Default Running at track without roll bar

I have a Convertable that will not be track legal, stock convertibles are too fast to run the 1/4 mile. So my question is how can I run my car to get some time slips with a sc, headers, cam etc? Is this possible on private track days? If so anyone know of a place in central fl. I've herd that even private track days on nhra tracks must abide by the rules.
Any ideas or dates and locations appreciated.

Thanks
Adam

Allowing cars to run faster then they're cert at rentals isn't something that's publicized.

Gotta ask around, usually IHRA tracks aren't as strict.

It might help to say what track you're planning on attending so people can share their experience.
My local track (and many others I've been to) allow people to go way faster than rules allow with a 6pt bar in. I've got a Wolfe setup with removable bars that I hang on the wall when not in use. It fits nicely. It's not the best way to go if you're wanting a NHRA legal bar, but they offer a weld-in setup too.
I'm not talking about sanctioned events in any case here. Just Friday night street nights (aka test and tune) and private events.

You pretty much have to do a private rental, that's the only way around the rule if you want to get more then 2 passes a day.

Also sometimes at special events some tracks are more lenient.

I've been dodging them with my 71' for 5 years.. I don't even have shoulder belts...

I have been wondering the same.. Wolfe or RSD for a bolt-in bar? Removable side bars is a must.

If you are going to run fast----get a roll bar. Be safe, be legal.
You probably have a 95% chance that nothing will ever happen to'you
just insure your self for the last few %.when you run fast. Good luck.

Just a short 20 hour drive north to my local track in indiana. I seen an 8 second convertible mustang make passes there. It had to trap in the 160's...... It's more of a grudge track but they do give you a slip.

Orlando speed world has a test and tune/ grudge night and is close to me, a couple of runs would be ok, not something I would do all the time or I would get a bar, I do think about safety! maybe I will try once car is ready. Thanks for the response. Palm beach is not too far either if anyone knows about that track. Just really want to know where car is.

Our local track is an NHRA venue, I've run NHRA sanctioned events and gotten booted a few times and/or bumped down in the results a few times when a competitor complained....they're pretty good there though and generally let me do my thing as long as I don't go down the track with the top down in 10 seconds......
Never had an issues on track rental days, but have been asked to slow down once or twice on T&T days.....
