Thanks guys, Alan is probably going to help me log the car on the street to make sure it's safe. I'm not going to mess with the clutch until I plan on racing it. It holds fine for quick 2-3 gear pulls and into 4th until 6000 or so. It's fixing to be 100* daily here in Houston and I don't race in the summer so I'm just going to enjoy the car!

Congratulations on your build. I just recently fired up my Thompson long block last week. Kyles@thompson motorsports got my business because of the customer service and prices. Always answered my questions

Thompson built my 408 shortblock. I'm not to the firing stage yet unfortunately. I'm going to use Lucas 20w50 break in oil. What did you guys go with?

Rotella Diesel oil. Oil pressure is at 45psi when fully warmed up after driving at an idle. Drops to 40psi after a few 3-4 gear pulls at idle. Oil temps are good and cooling has really surprised me and I'm happy.

Good luck with yours!

Big thanks to Bad Chad. Kurt and Pat G had high praises for you. Looks like it's clutch time! Also thanks to Kurt and Pat G!
Nice numbers but did they have it loaded during the pull? I had mine tuned there too but with no load on the dyno.

If I follow correctly this shop was Gfarce? If so I'm not surprised.

Made the first street pulls tonight vs my first every racing buddy, D98GT in his 2012 built Coyote. His car makes 800+rwhp through an automatic on a mustang dyno and is a legit 148-150mph car running low 9's. Freaking crazy numbers on built motor with stock heads, stock cams and a Novi 2200SL.

Weight was probably very close. He had on his 15 inch Weld wheels and Mickey Thompson Bias Ply tires with no front sway bar, etc. I have an iron block, 6 point cage, amps and subwoofers and I'm on 19's.

First race, got the hit and put a bus or two on him. Second race, he got the hit. He jumped out quick and I was sitting there waiting for low compression 370 to kick in. By the top of forth, I had caught back to his back fender. Freaking autos shift fast and he didn't spin on the hit like I did on 19's.

Eitherway, it was great to see the car pull as hard as it did, and it's still got a lot left in the tune. His car will be running in my place on Sunday at the track rental.

Gotta get you some quality rubber on that car so we can really see the potential. I'm thoroughly impressed by both cars honestly for 3800+ pounds haha

That's damn good if you put a bus on a 150 trap car!

You got some top end for sure.

Well I am sure Mark is sleeping right now so I will slip in a cheap shot loaded with my ricer excuses

I admit to him yanking me pretty hard on the first go. I have a stock automatic car so with him being able to select his gear and me going off of his go without any sort of signaling of any sort....I get to hear the noise of his loud BOV, hear the car go, and then react which already sets him out a bit on me. As we all know with cars of this potential, it's extremely difficult to not only stop a momentum pull, but to begin gaining back.

Just a few extra excuses....my computer has a virus, my headers aren't heading right, and I was distracted by a barking dog. The struggle is real

I didn't want to pull your boy Josh Townsend's excuses since I was on bald 19's and you were on fresh 15 inch bias ply tires and ask for an 80 race. So I slowed to 40 so I didn't have hear this^

Sorry for th Hijack. Had awesome luck with the lucas break in on my 347 i just built. My motor was a little tigher so i went with the SAE 30. Ran it for 500 miles and swapped it out to rotella T6. Rings sealed right up during break in and she made more power than I thought.

What's everybody's opinion on gulf racing fuels? That's what Pat G tunes on for cars making 20psi plus.
Gulf Mach 116 is a damn good fuel

That's what I've heard. Mine batch should be arriving tomorrow and look to finish up the tune after a clutch goes in. Curious to see what this setup makes without having to go down to a 2.75 pulley.

Thanks Joel! I just need a few hotties now in a photo shoot!
