I want to talk air filters... Sounds stupid, I know. I am curious as to what everyone is using. I have been on the quest for the perfect F/I air filter for about 2 months now and have so far settled on the Airaid Track Day filter. My only concern about this filter is its small surface area. It is a 6" cone style with a 4" inlet. But it does appear to flow just as well or better than the A&A or ECS filters that are supplied with the kits.
With that said, I am looking for the biggest, highest flowing filter you have found that you have managed to make fit.
What are you running?

Ours starts to get restrictive around 1000-1100 RWHP, I don't have a great answer what to switch to because by then typically many other items have changed as well so it's a per vehicle basis.

I have an A&A filter. I honestly don't know when it becomes too restrictive. I did pick up power when I removed it, but at the same time I did that, I also put my velocity stack on my blower so it wouldn't be fair for me to say, removing the filter netted me power. Id like to think that there's a perfect balance between surface area, permeability and inlet size.

Im gonna have to say my ecs maybe a bit restrictive at my power level..I have no idea cause i didnt remove it..Now few days later maybe i should of
can always try at the track with out it and see if it picks up MPH

What? Laugh Out Loud. What does Jay have to do with this? The meth is for your engine's consumption not your own.

I'm using a&a's older style filter, it has an offset flange and worked with my inlet... it is 1" longer on the top (flange) side as compared to the ecs filter but the rest of the dimensions are identical... it is also nicer quality... I had to cut my top cover just a bit to get it to clear but that's no biggie... the dallas performance filter is pretty big if you can get it to fit

I had a DP filter but it vanished around the same time my blower and direct drive did.
Too bad you couldn't run a suitable filter on a velocity stack.
