Default FI Header Size

Hi, I am relatively new to the forum. I might be bringing up a old topic but I could not find a thread on this subject. What is everyone's opinion/experience between 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 headers on a FI Z06?
My setup is as follows. AA supercharger with 3.8" pulley, 1 7/8 American racing longtubes with 3" x-pipe to factory Ti mufflers, trans mount and diff brace, ceterforce twin disc DYAD clutch. I have been driving it with the supercharger and the factory exhaust for a while but just had the new exhaust put on and new clutch. Not really for sure yet as I haven't drove it much since the new mods but it feels like I may have lost some low end torque. Would this be normal? Any info would be greatly appreciated as I am fairly new to FI.

You need to rewrite your post so it makes sense..

1. You are asking about headers, but you say you already have them??

2. if you have headers, the whatever you have is fine... no need for any changes unless you like throwing money out of the window.

3. You only "feel" like you lost something because you now feel the top end pull or power.. blowers don't make you lose anything because it only "adds" air.. doesn't take it away unless you have a retard for a tuner that put 8 degrees in there for "safety"

Yes I do already have the headers but I was just wondering what people's experince and opinions between the two sizes were with the type of setup I have. Like I said I am new to FI and am just trying to learn what I can from people who know more than me and have more experience.

will it make more power.. yes.. not a lot, but more.. is it worth it when a pulley change will net you 2 or 3 times the power gains and for $100 or less and 30 mins worth of work?? no!!

Wouldn't be worth it in your case OP. Unless you plan on cranking up the boost later.

Yeah I do plan on going up in boost. That was my thinking that if I'm gonna get headers I might as well get a set that won't be outgrown in the future.

Here's another take.

You mention a supercharger kit...but not which supercharger. Not what power you think it has, not whether the engine itself has been modified etc

But really...you'd need to be making some very very big numbers before you would need bigger headers than 1 7/8"

Even 1 3/4" are perfectly adequate for most.

Engine itself is stock, supercharger is AA with a 3.8" pulley si trim I believe.

1 3/4" are more than enough
