Default A&A V3 Si Trim Install, tune and dyno +: 593RWHP/551RWTQ

Today my car is about 95% complete (just waiting on some gages to arrive on Monday). If you want to see my total install (initial joy then drama) recount, you can see it here:https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-projects.html

So this was at one time a magazine car. Owned many years ago by Mr. Doug Plette, it graced the cover of Corvette Fever in 2002:http://www.superchevy.com/features/8...olet-corvette/. I was in the Army when I first saw this car, funny how years later I would buy it. Now when I got it was a bit rough (6 owners and some trashing will do that but the price was good and I wanted a project). Over the last two years, its changed quite a bit from what I got.

So here are the basics: 1997 C5 Coupe- 75k on the odometer, about 3,300 miles on the engine.

Engine: LS3 in 2013 with 237/249 114 LSA cam, Vararam VRB2, Kooks 1 7/8" headers, Xpipe with high flow cats and Borla exhaust.
Cooling-Ron Davis radiator, 160 t-stat, stock fans.
Drivetrain and suspension: Upgraded RSG T-56 in 2012, upgraded SKF hubs, C6Z06 Brakes, and sway bars riding on 275-19/345-20.

County Corvette in West Chester, PA installed over the last couple of weeks (delays and parts took a bit longer):
A&A V3Si blacked out kit with a 3.6 pulley;
ATI Harmonic Balancer OE size with ARP bolt for the HB;
Rear Diff from Evil Performance-built 3 rib with severe duty internals and 300m R&L output shafts;
McLeod Street Twin RST with McLeod flywheel;
Upgraded the torque tube-PST aluminum driveshaft, new poly couplers front and rear (wow, these were one of the shocks of my build)
Hoosier Performance Torque Limiting Mount and Diff/Transmission Strut Kit;
RPM C5 300m axle kit.
Waiting on dual gage pod and gages to finish it off.

Today after A&A SC Install (FYI-I received my dyno results via email so the TQ and A/F were really very faint. I went over then in MS Paint to see them better. My original thread has the link to the original file if you'd like to check it out.) This honestly seemed a bit rich but hey I'm not the expert in the matter.

So you only gained 100hp with the blower on an LS3 and a 3.6" pulley?

The tune is pig rich, probably 30-40hp right there but... I would think you should have made 700rwhp pretty easy with your combo...

Although your cam is stupid big for your setup but nothing a a lot more blower won't fix.

Retune it and I bet it makes 640 rwhp with no other changes.

Thank you for your observations. That's the same thing I thought reagarding the gains. The cam was part of my NA so I just did not feel like spending the cash for a different cam.

I haven't seen that car (or Snowman) since 2005.

Like Alan said, retune for better air/fuel and I bet it responds better all over. Cool to see its still going though.

How much boost were you seeing? Maybe its slipping the belt or something...

It made great power in NA form....The blower with 8-9 psi should have put an EASY 150-175 hp on top....

How much timing did they put in it? Any KR?

I'd want them to datalog it and touch up the tune...

Gotta be something simple wrong....

Boost leaks, belt slip, tune way off...Something....

In the mean time, drive and enjoy it...

I was not there when it was dynoed, the gages wont be deluvered until Monday so the car still at the shop. I sent an email to the tuner asking these question you posed. I'll likely get something back on Monday.

I agree, it seems like you should be making more power. I also agree that if the Dyno's Wideband is correct your air fuel ratio is too rich. With your boost levels, you could richen it up to 11.5 or 12.0 : 1 ( lambda .783 or .817 for you purist) :-)

Default Car is ready for pick up!!

Sorry for the lack of updates, really busy with work and family summer activities with the kid's schools. Anyway I'm picking her up today, I decided to leave the tune alone for now. I'll have it looked some other time.
I got some pics sent to me a couple of days ago, the Ol' lady looks pretty f&**ing good for a car that is 18 years old!! I'll do the engine pics once I get all the covers back on.

Love the gages, surprised they match as well as they did the cluster gages:

Those are Autometer Phantoms SrS with white background. Yes, that is a shiftlight. Angle of the pic makes it look like a light bulb or something.
