Default Vortec Intercooler Question

Is there any specific schedule for flushing/refilling the coolant in the Vortec intercooler? The blower is a Vortec V2 (CARB compliant) and was professionally installed about 2004 or so before I bought the car (an '02) from a CF member.

From what I can see by siphoning out a small amount of the coolant, it looks clear and it tests to about 15 degrees F. The coolant is a greenish color so I'm assuming the mix is an ethlyene-glycol coolant and water. The car has never given me any supercharger-related problems.

No intercooler that I know of from any of the supercharger manufacturers is an AIR to Water ingercooler. They're all air to air.

Chris308 is correct, that kit is air to water. I don't know the Vortech recommended spec, but a reasonable approach would be to change it at least as often as engine coolant, every 5 yrs / 100,000 mi at the most. If you are getting a 15F rating then it is likely too dilute. Siphon some off and add in pure coolant until the ratio tests right. Or just drain/refill with the right mixture... Should be a cheap and easy procedure if you have any doubts just do it. My .02
