Default Fast intake & 102 tb with YSI

Hey guys,

Anyone running ysi with fast intake and tb?
I have customer installing YSI but we had to remove the intake & 102 tb
(He's running LS2 102 TB Though )

Do we need C5 102 TB maybe?

Any pics will be great too.

Thanks,
Sam.

The older NW 102s will get pushed open under boost. They were supposed to fix this but some people still report that the boost overpowers the blade.

If fit is an issue just flip the TB, that's what I did for my LS2 TB. If you get the LS2 water pump it will have more clearance if that's where you are getting hung up.

GL with the Fast and boost, it will work great until it explodes. The 4 bolts holding it together aren't enough for it to last unfortunately.

Thanks Milan.
Yes it's a fit issue not a boost issue we're not planning to go extreme with boost hopefully we'll not see any issues with the fast.

Was your TB an 102 LS2?

If you don't plan on making a lot of boost save your money and throw a LS2 intake and 90mm throttle body on the car. It will support the power.

There is absolutely no reason to run a fast setup on a blower car. You will have more issues than the extra flow is worth. Just slap a stock manifold on it and be done w/ it.

OP, the link I'm about to post compares a FAST 102 intake to an MSD Aeroforce intake on a N/A LS7. With that said, the gains had with the Aeroforce intake vs the FAST 102 probably wouldn't warrant someone with a FAST 102 to make the switch, it would seem that the switch would be worth the power increase if a guy were going from a factory manifold to the MSD Aeroforce. Im not sure if the MSD intake holds up any better under boost than a FAST but it may be worth looking into.

I was on the dyno yesterday with a friend that has a FAST 102 and GM 90 TB.

Ysi
347 CI
TrickFlow 220 heads
BTR Blower cam
11.1cr
E85
RXT clutch
3.42 rear

Made 920/750

22lbs of boost.

I believe the old style FAST intakes may have had some failures, but the new 102 has a good system of holding it together.

Those are some great numbers!! congrats on making that kind of power with your setup! How does the dyno graph look like? the YSI's really ramp up around 3700rpm usually and torque stays pretty flat until you get up to right around 5600rpms
