Sorry this is even dumber than that. I am just trying to get the alternator off the car. Wasn't sure where to start since I hve a secondary drive kit. I have poked around a little but wasn't sure where to start.

Where does one relieve the tension? This is the first time I've done anything belt related to the car since the SC was installed. I figured swapping alternators would be easy just not sure where to take the tension off.

The tensioner is the pulley right next to the alternator pulley - you can see it clearly in the pics above. It's a little awkward re-establishing the tension, and I've done it a couple of different ways, but it's fairly straightforward once you remove one of the bolts to create slack on the belt. There is a lot of tension on the belt so relieve it slowly. I have done this by removing one of the tensioner bolts or the top alternator mounting bolt first. Note that in the pictures, the top gold-colored bolt on the tensioner bracket is the one you're supposed to use to torque CW to create/remove tension on the belt during assembly/disassembly.
