building an LS motor isn't that bad. I'd pull your current engine apart to see what it needs.

I have a set of H bean rods and 3.903 forged pistons I scrounged up cheap (800 for the pistons & rods and rings, I'll update the rings)

glad to see someone brave enough to do this with jack stands!!

thanks for posting up the pics and best of luck.

TMS definitely has great customer service and do "volume" low cost builds. I'm thinking the quality is pretty good too (but again , no personal experience)

good luck on your build!!
This is why I suggest Schwanke, they build some serious power plants.

In the wait of final engine config I tore down the torque tube to check condition on couplers and bearings. Everything seems to be good, couplets and bearings was replaced by previous owner and seems like there are no issues 20k miles later.
I've been chasing an RPM dependent vibration for a while, but at least can rule out wore out parts.

Any ideas on balancing the driveshaft?

Moving further back, T56 has some play on input shaft. Anybody know what specs are?

Washed the tranny and rear diff today. Amazing how much grime and dirt builds up over time! Motor shipped from Thompson and should be here towards end of the week. More to come on ride and handling with Ridetech stuff soon as well!

Im kinda set on TMS for a forged Ls1. Dont think mine would ever see over 700hp so I hope that it would hold up. Let us know how everything goes and post some pics.

I do like where you mounted the Reservoirs for the TQ's. Where did you mount the fronts?

Today the motor showed up so I went and got it at FedEx. Delivery time was spot on per TMS quote and packaging was very stout.

Now it's just the "fun" part left!

Hey Rodney, I made a bracket for the left side that goes on the brake booster/master cylinder. For the right side I mounted it by the battery cowling. Little hard to see in the pics but it worked great. Had to wrap the hoses in heat wrap to protect from header heat.

Anyone know if it's possible to drop a long block in from the top?

What is the engine combo?

Yes the engine can go in from the top as long as the cradle is dropped down. Use a lift plate on the lifter valley and no leveler, just a chain in the center hole. Change the angle on your TT as needed to stab it in the clutch.

Looks like that's gonna be a nice combo!

If you decide to sell the LS6, lemme know.

This morning I got word from the painter on the heat extractor carbon hood being done. Looks great imo.

Should help keep temps in check.

Anyone want to buy a Trackspec vent kit for stock hood?? I've got it left over as I went with hood instead.

Parts transfer under way. Of course a few beers helps to keep a steady hand!
