Default Thermostat swap with blower

Anyone attempt to swap a thermostat with a blower hooked up? I didn't get under the vehicle to see what it would look like to try and get to it, but I didn't know if there were any Hoodinis out there. I want to swap out my t-stat but I my motivation level to take the blower off just to get to it is extremely low..

If it's a no go, I'll just replace the rad at the same time.

You have to unbolt the blower head and move it out of the way to get the thermostat out.

I am attempting the same thing and I think It can be done without taking the blower off I am thinking of just removing the outlet pipe and in my opinion it's possible

Default Thermostat swap with blower

I was under the car this past weekend and I know it would definitely be easier with the blower out.. But it almost seems possible haha. I think I may just leave blower on and wait until I swap radiators because then it will be right there.

Ok I did it without taking the blower off all I did was remove the pipe going from blower to intercooler then I loosened the 4 blower bolts this gave me a bit more space between the thermostat housing and blower bracket
It's a pain but can be done btw I have an a&a newer style bracket and vortec blower
Good luck

Just to provide everyone an update, I have a laid back cradle and recently replaced the radiator. I had some issues after I installed the new thermostat and was able to pull the thermostat out without removing the blower so I can also vouch for being able to replace the thermostat while blower is still in.

It only requires extreme patience!!

It takes 5 minutes to remove blower. Then extreme patience isn't required.
