Default Who daily drives there blown c5?

I have a mainly stock 00 Coupe M6, Im planning on doing a cam swap here soon. After reading about the gains of a blower, im tempted to ditch the cam and add a A&A supercharger and call it a day. I daily my car and drag race it when I can. 90% of my driving is highway. Ive looked up older post about this but most where EARLY (04-06) post. How do these SC's handle being daily driven? How long have you had yours and do you regret it? Been researching A&A SC's and have found nothing but happy customers. Thanks Brandon

Back when I was only making ~700 whp I used to drive mine all the time, not DD but drove it easily 3-4 times a week and a hand full of road trips. Never had any issues and before I cammed my car it still got good gas mileage.

Honestly I had the most fun with the car at around that power level. I had 18s all around, C6Z brakes was able to get tires that could turn and hook in a straight line. If I had to do it again I would probably get to that and leave it alone.

Do the supercharger, you will love it.

I DD mine for a few weeks until the trans had issues, not related to blower or DD though. 668 rwhp on a mustang dyno. Once it's fixed I am back to DD it.

My car has been at or around 700 whp for about 10 years. Over 30k boosted miles. I don't daily drive it but I do drive it often. 3-4 days a week if the weather cooperates.

you're on the right track with a&a, I have nothing but good things to say about them... go ahead and do the cam too while you're at it and as long as you don't go too crazy with the build you should be able to daily it no problem... as the power goes up is when you start needing to add meth/e85, built fuel system, 8/10 rib upgrades, secondary drive, trans/rear/clutch, etc... if I had to daily mine I would probably keep it around 600ish

I agree. Do the cam for sure. I regret not putting one in while it was all apart. I am going to add one someday though.

I've daily driven my A&A SuperCharged C5 for two years. Flawless operation, and now; lot's more fun when you 'nail it'.

Otherwise, drives very similar to stock.
Recently drove it up the coast past San Francisco, over to Lake Tahoe, then back home to San Gabriel Valley. Fuel average on the highway right at 24.5 to 25.1 each tankfull, when mostly highway driving. Less in city of course.

I highly recommend the A&A SC.

I drive mine everyday the weather cooperates. Near 600rwhp and it's too much fun and have done it 2 years now. A&A was a great choice I made. Oh, and it's got a 228R cam so it's a sweet sounding and running car.

I'm at 600 rwhp and I drive it a few times a week. The A & A has made it fun, but not really negatively affected the drivability. For me as long as I keep it under 3500 RPM it feels very close to stock. Of course over 3500 RPM and it increases the smile factor exponentially.

I am at 550whp and drive my 3-4 times a week with no issues. Take care of it and you won't have any issues. I am running an ECS kit and couldn't be happier. No issues at all getting ready to do more to the car.

Get a good balancer and pin the crank when you do the cam. Your in there anyway and then when you go FI you'll already have that done.
