Need Some Veteran Advice to Pick Out Trans Cooler
I'm putting together parts for an auto swap, and need some help on the cooler. Plan on putting it behind the passenger side bumper, -6an lines, want a fan, and temps need to kept below 200 after track passes. Would like to go as large as I can in that area.
Right now I'm between these 2 unless you guys have better options.

Just from the experience I am having I would do the b&m big cooler with fan. Or the bigger of the two you posted. And you may still need another cooler. I bypassed my radiator and also ran -6 lines, temps would hang around 200 and with any stop and go shoot to 230 with just the b&m, added a secondary 11x11 cooler without fan and now temps have a hard time going over 160 in so far 86 degree heat is the hottest I have been in.
I am going to be doing a bracket for the one tied to the condenser because its blocking to much air to the radiator causing slightly elevated coolant temps. These cars just want to run hot.

I had one like that in the c5 at one time it did make a diff in the temp for sure. I sold it got a elec fan set up in a B&M cooler it was over 250.00. I put it out in the same place as you are talking about.
It did work good plus other temp in the car went down also.

Yes without the second cooler the temps did not change. But with it the coolant temps went from 196 steady, to as high as 205-210 in traffic. I now am going to build a top shroud to make the fans pull cooler air only. The temps I mention are without a shroud. I also put a ls3/7 water pump on the car.
And yes that is the biggest b&m they have with a fan on it.

Don't get that luxury in VA we have to have front plates.
So in theory a large bar/plate with a fan would do better than the B&M?
Derale has 40 row (13.5x13x2) that I could easily mount a fan on.

Highest I have ever seen was 198* and that was waiting to turn the fan on until 190* just to see if it could turn the temp around, in bumper to bumper traffic for like 20 mins.... That's the only time its ever seen 190 anything.
95% of the time, when I look at the trans temp gauge, I'm 160* ish. I've never looked at the temp at the track (drag strip?) but the car is always cool when I run it so I doubt the trans ever hits 140*...( I wish I had this luck with my coolant temps, that's a whole different story)
Trans temps just aren't an issue with this B&M cooler with the fan, and I have a LOOSE converter.
If you use a trans brake, you will get it hot quick though, as well as foot braking it real hard...I don't do either... I just do the 2nd gear burn out, stage it at 1500, Smoothly walk into it on the last amber... 1.3x 60' if it hooks.

This is the second cooler I tried. The first one was a lot bigger, no fan and sat right in front of the condenser. My coolant temps have always been high so I went to the B&M cooler in the bumper. Didn't help my coolant temps at all but my trans temps always stay cool. I don't even run the fan most of the time. Normal driving on a 100* day I see 160-170* trans temps. If I'm sitting in a bunch of stop and go traffic, it may go 180* and that's rare.

I did, but mine is also kinda trapped behind the intercooler, I think if you do it like the others posted you will be batter. I just cant do that because the turbo inlets are there on both sides.
