You can see I have quite a bit of room left.

Bill is running a TTIX kit and he used the same Lingenfelter oil cooler adapter I did. My oil temps before cooler were in the 220's and with it installed they were around 175-185 after a pull it would go up to @190-193 and come back down slowly 3 back to back pulls 60-180mph it would make it to 199-205. New filled block is about 10 hotter and will get to low 190's if temps are above 90 outside.GL I Bill and I mounted ours on the DS. Just like Alan's but on the DS. And of course we are C6's though. GL! Hope this info was use full.

miller, is it possible to run that fitting the other way around? so the cooler fittings point down?

Due to the pan no, there is a lip on the pan. It may if that was machined down but not certain.

are those -10 or -8 lines? id really like to run -10 lines but due to space most likely won't work. i think i have the room its just more the lines will be extremely close to the turbo, would be worried it would melt the lines

There -10 lines. I was able to still have the blanket on the turbo and its between the turbo and lines.

I wouldn't restrict the oil system any more that needed. My custom mount put the cooler right in front of the power steering cooler. You can see some pictures in my build thread. I don't see the need for a stat as the oil seems to warm up over 200 with no issues on cool days and those stats have been known to drop some pressure (at least when I was researching the topic).

Miller is correct the oil filer housing, sticks out on the pans and doesn't allow for it to be put on but one way and the Lingenfelter is -10's Although -8 will work fine as I did that at one point and I think actually it dropped temps faster, but hard to tell when you change other stuff as well. Looks like you got a plan GL.

I've done a little searching and so far I'm thinking I'm going to use the improved racing Low-Profile Oil Cooler adapter Thermostat for C5 Corvette, 212F with this adaptor plate AF64-2184BLK

which will allow me to run the oil cooler adaptor pointing down and away from my turbo. i don't run turbo blackets and am afraid of the cooler lines being way to close to the exhaust housing if it points up.

i also found this http://www.improvedracing.com/oil-co...naro-p-82.html

but it does not have the t stat. me living in new england i really need a t stat, it could be 70 out then 45 out at night while cruising at home... i already have issues with the coolant not getting up to temp when its cooler at night so i really don't want that issue with the oil.
it also only has the ports for the temp sensor and my turbo feed line on the face of it which would basically be into the downpipes.

i also found this http://www.improvedracing.com/oil-co...ines-p-33.html

the only issue i see with this one is it will put the temp sensor closer to my exhaust housing which would most likely melt it but i may be able to just put some of the fire sleeve over it to protect it. it also doesn't have a provision for my oil feed lines so this option is most likely not going to work

for a oil cooler I'm leaning towards a setrab 25row series 1 I'm just not positive where i want to mount it, the turbo intakes and my catch cans under the headlights will prevent that option, i may try and just mount it to the cradle behind the fans.

Is there any lag in pressure after cold starts? How did you guys prime the cooler after the install (pull plugs, fuel pump fuel, and crank?)?

It's not that bad as far as priming, it will fill the lines quick. I run my cooler with the fittings pointed up so it stays full. I also filled the cooler before final install.

Dewitt's sells a kit to do just that, I have a separate trans cooler under my headlight and run oil into trans cooler on radiator, oil is about 10*to 15* hotter than water if I get on it ....otherwise it stays even closer to water temp. all my temps are way down now! Before the Dewitt's and b&m cooler I could not run my ac at all and auto trans would get to 270 and keep climbing if I was driving hard on highway now trans never goes over 185* and water never goes over 215* ac on driving hard!

I use the LPE oil cooler, it works fine with TTiX. It's definitely a tight fit for the adapter/lines past the turbo. It works best when my fans are running from A/C, so it could probably use more airflow on mine.

quick question

does it matter if the oil cooler is mounted with the fittings up or down?
I'm thinking they need to be on top but wondering if its a MUST or not

Yes the fittings need to be mounted up!

Otherwise, the cooler will drain back into the pan, and then every time you start the car, it will be slow to build oil pressure as it has to inventory the cooler. Bigger the cooler, the longer it will take.
