Im running a fluidyne DB-30617 right behind the front license plate area. -12 lines to an earls sandwich adapter. It works good, considering the turbos are only oil cooled and the car has a non lockup 5.5k stall behind a th400. temps would hit 260 cruising before and now only 220.

well, parts are starting to roll in. still waiting on a couple things and the oil cooler adaptor. I'm still hoping the adaptor fits. i purchased a spacer so i can try and see if i can get the adaptor to have the fittings pointed down. its going to be close, i may have to bring the spacer to a friend to get it milled down slightly. the spacer as is with the adaptor will fit but the bolts are what are going to be tricking. if i pull the down pipe it will fit without issue but id rather not have to do that. we shall see, its going to be tight lol.
i ended up going with a setrab cooler. its basically the size of a license plate so it should fit perfectly.

for anyone wondering that doesn't go in the tech section... the block i had didn't have a provision for the stock temp sensor, it also didn't have a good place for one due to clearance issues with the turbo kit SO....

well for anyone wondering i took a chance and ordered the following sensor... its available in a few different spots but this link is just an idea of what sensor it is, its not where i got it....

https://partsforspeed.com/home/gauge...n-1-8-npt.html

i just tested it out in the car. i plugged battery in turned car on with stock sensor and it was reading temp (sensor is not in car nor is car running.)
i then proceeded to unplug battery, take the zeitronix sensor and temp plug it in.... hook battery back up and it is also reading temp. i then just grab the sensor with my hand and it did infact react to the change in temp so it seem that it should work just fine...

the sensor is MUCH smaller then the stock sensor so clearance issues are no problem, its also 1/8NPT which makes it fit into most oil cooler blocks with no adapters etc....

here is the setup ill be running. I'm missing the spacer since its getting machined right now but ill have it soon... so ill have installed pics soon. it actually fits perfect with my TTIX kit and has the fittings pointed down towards the ground so clearance is no issue what so ever and none of the lines are near the turbo or downpipe.

also, as seen in the last picture the sensor is perfect length where the tip will be in the oil coming back from the oil cooler but its not to long and going to cause any issues with the flow.

I am efforting a Dewitts radiator upgrade for my boosted vette (05 has eoc/toc setup )....would it be better to go with regular radiator and external eoc/toc coolers or integrated ones?

Stealth, do you think that will pick the temp up enough to be accurate? I love that you found that since I also have the improved adapter. And do you just cut the wires and solder them or what to work with the stock dic?

I haven't fully installed anything yet, I just used some stripped wires and shoved it into the stock plug just to see if it would work. It seems like it should be accurate tho, after holding it for 5 seconds it went from 55 degrees to 88 degrees, I'm sure if I held it longer it would get my actually body temp. I plan on working on it this weekend, I'll post up what I actually do.

I thought they made the correct fitting one now, or just get the LPE block, etc. I ended up re-drilling my improved racing block for the stock temp sensor and insulating it from heat.

They do, but it's not the low profile one and has the thermostat in it.

I don't know how you drilled that and got it to seal. I tried on the low profile one, and ended up being so thin on the edges for the crush washer I didn't do it. . I ended up just knocking off some of the coating on that side, and welding on the bung from a spare OE cover.

Some secret cheap azz voodoo on my part I bet LOL. I can't remember what I did to help it seal now, but didn't have too much problem.

Yea I needed a low profile block due to clearance issues. I'll post up pics this weekend. I've done some mock ups, it's actually coming out pretty slick. I'm able to get everything on with the down pipe/ turbo still in place and I'll still be able to remove/install the oil filter without having to remove the oil cooler fittings and adaptor.

here are a couple installed pics
one fitting sits lower then the oil filter but its sits higher then my wastegate. I've never had clearance issues with those so i don't see it being an issue.

well its back running again. i only let it run for a min tho, its in the very back of my garage and the central air vent is right next to the car... sticks the place up pretty fast lol.
oil temp started at 64 and at end of min went to 70 so it is working. its on the cooler side of the block so just idling in my garage for a min isn't going to show the oil temp rise a lot.
so far no leaks tho.

Really don't mean to hijack, but 06CobaltSS's inbox is full. Had a few quick questions.

Did you have to do a lot of work to get it to fit and mount behind the front plate area?

What did you do for the air flow through and behind the cooler?

Thanks!!

i actually did the same thing... its not bad, went to hardware store and purchased some aluminum flat bar and made a couple brackets to mounted it and just used self tapping screws.
i have pictures on the last post in my other thread. photo bucket is down so i can't link them in this thread right now

Turbos heating the oil some, 4" crank, iron block, etc. I can still see 230 on the street with the cooler and long pulls, but mine is mounted behind radiator as it cleaned up my lines and I was worried about not having a tstat inline.

Right, but some of us ARE on the road course.

If people aren't, well then I agree. While the temps climb quickly over 220 on our blown setups when you actually USE the power, it comes down fast enough that it isn't a concern for daily use/dragracing.
