Default Recommend me an oil cooler

Just as title states. I think it's time to get one. Had anyone tried the c6z setup on a c5? Or are there better options?

I used the B&M big one that had the elec fan in it & put it up under the headlight on the car in the c5. It did work great keep the temp down on the 427 ci f1x blower set up..

Earls 25 row cooler will fit under the headlight. It will knock 25* minimum off your oil temp.

https://www.corvettemods.com/mobile/...er_p_6364.html. I used the Lengfelter Oiler cooler and worked great. If your interested in it send me an offer via pm. I have it boxed up and ready to ship. I also have a trans cooler if wanted.

I'm curious what temps you guys are seeing that make you want an oil cooler? If not on the road course, I don't understand what's driving the temps up.

Turbos. My temps were 250 just cruising and continued up with no wot runs.

yea I'm seeing 250 just cruising on the highway with it being 80* outside. while its not "bad" its not optimal either. it tops out around 250 but that's just cruising.

i have no issues with the car running hot tho. maintains 190 and at night its 180 or lower.

I bought the improved racing non thermostat adapter. Fits with no issues at all. However, it does not have the proper size threads for the temp sensor. I made a small manifold but it is not giving proper temps where it's at, while I know the temps are lower since I have a few more psi I don't know the cooling affects of it. I will be either be switching to the thermostatic one or make this work with the temp sensor this winter. I feel the LPE one is probably the best but tighter fit. As for the cooler. I have a small 15 row earls I believe, have a 19 row derale I want to make a bracket for and mount this winter.

I made my own that is similar to the LPE one. Just use any oil cooler adapter, -10 hose/fittings and a decent cooler (I used a 16 row derale). I've got about $200 in it or less but that is due to the more expensive improved racing oil cooler adapter that I really didn't need.

Wow, didn't realize they drove up temps that much! 250 isn't bad. . . if you're racing. I bet a Dewitts or RD radiator with integrated oil cooler would be perfect for an application like this. Then you wouldn't have to worry about where to put the cooler too, but my guess is most of you guys already have aftermarket radiators.

I have a DeWitts with trans cooler that I don't use. Wonder if I can put the oil through that part.

25 row Earls. -10.

On an extremely hot day (100*) I'll see see 225-230* oil temps on the highway. That's usually running 215-220* coolant temps at the same time. After a 155 mph run, I'll see 240* if I started at 230*.

The cooler helped a lot.

Do you have downward angled louvers behind that cooler? They'really supposed to help pull air from behind the cooler. It's how the Japanese side mount intercooler all were back in the day.

I don't have any louvers. Just a square hole with wire mesh across it (same mesh C5Z front grills use).

Improved racing non thermostatic one, however I am sure the one with the thermostat will fit. I know Chris Stewart has the LPE one and it fit but was a bit tight.
